To,
The Consumer Grievance Cell
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a complaint against GoWarranty regarding the wrongful rejection of my extended warranty claim and their refusal to refund the amount paid towards the said plan. The details of my case are as follows:
1. On 11.02.2024, I purchased a Samsung 55CUE60AKLXL TV from Samsung’s official website for Rs. 42, 990.
2. On the same date, I purchased a 4-Year Extended Warranty Plan for Television from GoWarranty’s website. The purchase details are:
- Receipt Number: GW_2E5DABA71FC8
- Plan Amount: Rs. 13, 900
- Amount Paid: Rs. 5, 560
- Plan Duration: 11.02.2025 to 10.02.2029
3. As per GoWarranty’s requirement, I uploaded the device invoice and device image with the serial number for plan activation. The device image with the serial number was correctly uploaded, but by mistake, instead o[censored]ploading the official purchase invoice, I uploaded the invoice tag attached to the TV box. Despite this, GoWarranty approved my documents and activated the extended warranty plan after verification from their end.
4. On 25.09.2025, I lodged a complaint with GoWarranty ([protected]@gowarranty.in) regarding a malfunction with my TV speakers, as the sound was not clear, and I requested that the issue be covered under the extended warranty.
5. On 27.09.2025, since my claim was not being honored, I wrote an email to them asking for a refund of the amount I had paid. On the same day, GoWarranty responded by saying that the required documents were not provided at the time of registration, and on that basis, they rejected my claim.
6. On 29.09.2025, I submitted the correct purchase invoice of my TV to GoWarranty via email, fulfilling their stated requirement.
7. On 30.09.2025, GoWarranty once again sent me an email stating that since I did not upload the required invoice at the time of registration, my claim had been permanently rejected and that I would not receive any refund.
This raises several concerning points:
- Why was I not informed at the time of plan activation that my required documents were missing or incorrect?
- Why did GoWarranty activate my service plan without properly verifying the documents if they had an issue?
- When I provided the correct invoice later (during the claim process), why was it not considered valid?
- GoWarranty appears to have focused only on selling the plan without ensuring proper documentation, and even after I supplied the required documents later, they wrongfully rejected my claim and refund request.
Given these facts, I strongly believe that GoWarranty has acted unfairly and indulged in deficiency of service and unfair trade practice. I request your intervention to help me get back the amount of Rs. 5, 560 that I paid for this extended warranty plan, since my rightful claim has been unjustly rejected.
I am attaching the required documents, including the proper purchase invoice, for your reference.
Kindly take necessary action and help me get justice in this matter.
Thanking you,
Sincerely,
(Ravi Singh)
