Gowarranty — Laptop Warranty

Date of incident : 11/03/2024
Policy Ref : GW_GRGUGSOXXXXXX(scrubbed)
Description
I had similar experience as explained here https://www.consumercomplaints.in/gowarranty-not-providing-service-even-after-pa... . In fact I purchased a one year extended warranty from Amazon. Then their agent called and cancelled this and suggested to take a four year plan (around 11K+).

They assisted via the call to activate the Plan and provided COP. Now they are saying the Serial number provided is not from the screen but from the laptop backside sticker which is not supported.

This was done over the call by their agents and they say it is not supported. If that is the case on what basis they are activating the plan without checking anything ?? or they purposefully making the users to submit the same a provide a false COP.

I am sure that they are going to ignore it however writing review the respective platform may avoid issues for other users at least. But I feel at least it would be beneficial for the people who may check this in the future.

Dear Consumer Forum Authority,

We are writing in response to the complaint filed by Mr. Jobin Job regarding the alleged denial of service for his laptop under GoWarranty’s extended warranty plan.

Upon investigation, we found that the customer’s claims are unsubstantiated. We have already addressed this matter in an email to Mr. Jobin Job, providing a detailed explanation of why his service request was rejected.

Summary of our response:
- The customer submitted an image showing the serial number from the backside of a television, rather than the required serial number from the laptop screen. This documentation does not meet our validation requirements.
- As part of our process, customers must provide accurate documentation, including a clear image displaying the product’s serial number on the screen. This is crucial since GoWarranty does not conduct physical inspections of the device at the customer’s home.
- During the plan activation, a disclaimer was clearly highlighted, stating the necessity of providing accurate documentation. We have attached the relevant image for reference in our prior communication with the customer.
- Due to the invalid submission, Mr. Jobin Job’s request could not be approved as it failed our internal audit.

We kindly request the forum to consider the above facts and dismiss the complaint, as we have followed due process and communicated the necessary steps and requirements to the customer.

Should you need further documentation, we are happy to provide it.

Sincerely,

Team GoWarranty
