Hathway Cable & Datacom — prepaid bill invoices generated even after disconnecting | |||||
I have been facing harassment by hathway (For broadband) since last 2 years. I had visited their office in kothrud, pune and asked to disconnect the broadband connection (Customer id [protected]) after 3 months of pathetic service. I visited the office for unsubscribing and ensured that my dues were cleared. The person in the office confirmed that the broadband will be disconnected and told me not to pay the bill (Prepaid) if it was sent to me. Despite this i repeatedly got bills with arrears and phone calls from hathway. Everytime i told their representative on call that i had asked to disconnect the connection and stop the billing but to no avail. Today, after a break of 2 years, they called me again threatening that they will "take action" against me if i don't pay the bills. My repeated requests, queries and complaints have fallen on deaf ears. It appears that the company is trying to extort money from customers. How can hathway continue to bill me even after i have requested to disconnect/unsubscribe my broadband connection? Should i move consumer court for resolution of this grievance?
