Hathway (Hyderabad) — Poor BROADBAND download speeds.

I have recently taken a new 256kbps broadband 6-month package (Customer ID: 167296) from Hathway.

At the time of being given the connection I was assured speeds of 256 kbps (or at least 80% of it which is roughly ) at all times. However, I have been experiencing speeds between 25-85kbps during the nights (when I am most likely to use the service) and around 110 kbps during the day (which is way below the promised speed). The actual download speed being experienced at our end (roughly 2kB/sec). In addition, the download information is too erratic as it does not represent my download activity.

It may also be noted that I called the customer care several times (>20 times) regarding the same. I have sent 3 emails to which I got no response from the technical manager ([protected]@hathway.net; [protected]@hathway.net). The whole experience is turning out to be a nightmare and causing me tremendous harassment. I have my telephone bills as proof of the calls made to the customer care and have also mailed screenshots of the poor speeds to the customer care.

They sent their engineer to my place twice who agreed that indeed the service was poor and gave me a report of the same.

Recently, i.e. since one week the connection itself is jittery - it works for a few minutes or sometimes an hour and then goes dead again leading me to call customer care. Utter harassment!

The company is taking the customers for a ride.

Isn't there a goverment policy to monitor the promises made by these companies?

I agree with this.
I am staying in Kukatpally, Hyderabad.I have taken Hathway broadband connection on 1t of this month and my plan is 1MBPS.My customer id is 317442.Believe me i never got a download speed of more than 1.5kbps.The Hathway supprot team is totally useless they were there jsut for name sake, for lifting phone calls and for cheating new customers.
This is big cheating by Hathway to the customers.Its very miserable that such type of companys were still surviving.We have to take action against this type of companys otherwise this type of cheating will never stop.
I would like to ask this forum is there any Government Law or policy under which we can pull this type of companys to court and make them answerable to the customers and never take INDIANS for granted in future.
I strongly suggest people not to go with this damn HATHWAY... They are the biggest cheating team...

I had found a stall of Hathway on[protected] @ Kukatpally.. I jst asked them the details and they took my number.. from then started the mesh.. One of their guy (Mr. Subhash) started calling me every day..
Finally on Jan-2nd, 2009, I had given a PDC and took the connection (1 MBPS Plan)..

From that day to till now, I had tried (not less than 50 times) to contact that subhash, But he never picked up my call (But if i try from any other number he will pickup..).. N the great Customer support team, They will just pick up your call and will say we will get back to you soon..

Finally, I request all the hyderabadies, Never go through such kind of cheaters, Even if it is a bit costly, Always prefer for some Branded providers (like BSNL, Airtel..etc..)..

I hav recently taken a 1 mbps connection for 4 months. we have been told everything of the characteristics of the same by your representative. WE HAV ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT THERE WONT BE ANY CHARGES ISSUED IN ORDER TO SHIFT THE CONNECTION CLEARLY BY YOUR REP, WE HAVE THEN ONLY TAKEN IT ON THE PRIOR WORD OF YOU. but now we r being told that we need to pay some amt as shifting charges.
The plan which i hav taken is 1 mbps with 4GB download valid for 4 months which costs rs 1236. now as we are shifting it we are asked to pay rs 1000 as shifting fee. Isnt this seeming ludicrous? we have not used the connection for more than 20 days ie not even a half is used and you demand an enough equal amountas shifting fee as that of the plan?
your representative mr SIVA has assured the same when the connection was taken and now since the company blames him for his mistake, asks the customers to type an e-mail and besides that asks us to argue with the officials that the fee was a very large amount? we are not to pay anything, not even if the fee was reduced or something like that.
It is damn clear that you need to connect us to the net with out any charges.
we finally ask you to do the same soon( since we are getting troubled).

I agree with all the complaints and feel them as similiar customer cheated by hathway.

Please I apeal to all customer's and who r willing to take just take another brand broadband like BSNL and AIRTEL.
i want to shift my connection from present residence to other in "BN REDDY NAGAR" itself...

account no 497859 we dont need net connection at present .we have cleared all the bills up to 31st august .keep our connection on hold we need net connection after 3 months in between december n january .when we need it we will call 2 u till then dont send us the wrong bills ...

your broadband is so worst i suggest to you develop yours elp then after recieve costmer i hope your service need to change the costumer services ok
I would like to apply for the new broad band connection.As my residense is at BN reddy nagar .There is no Airtel Broad band feasibility and the Indicom too.
So I Prefer Hathway.Is it the right choice?

i have taken broadband connection recently 384KBPs speed but we are not geeting speed they promised and download speed is very poor. so we can't download r upload our doquements.
Yeah, I (ID:589878)too facing the same issue I have too many proofs like phone calls, mails like you, even though they are behaving like anything. Nodal officer also will not respond, will not get replies from them .And they will give false commitments to the customers always, indirectly they are cheating the customers.


Escalation like below I think.

First we need to put written letters at office and get the feedback of Nodal officer and next point of contact to the appeal authority and next Tray will take care I think
Go to the Hathway site you will get more info how to escalate the things.Or else we have to check is there any consumer forum will help us in this regard

At least this site brings us in one place, the same we need to bring in to media's notice once, this is not only helps us, it also helps who are loosing by investing their money on Hathways shares.seems india wide same problem with this broad band. If there is any other channel please let us know, I will join my hand.

Every alternate days my net will dead its been troubling since 3months . i got my net disconnected unfairly in September it took more then 25 days to reconnect and my telephone bill beaded Rs. 400 because of bad customer careless and service. since then every alternate days my net will be dead. It may also be noted that I called the customer care several times (more then 100 times per month complaints) regarding the same my phone bill lead (Rs. 2 into 100 = 200) roughly . and customer people says that technical department is not responding, if i ask them then to forward my call to technical department or forward their number they always say's that will be not possible.
