[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — complaint regarding the interest rate on personal loan from hdfc bank and their fake promises

With due regards I am Anil Kumar a personal loan borrower from HDFC bank, waiting for the resolution of my complaint which was registered on 20 June 2018 from the first stage or step. First of all I would like to pay your kind attention on the facts of my complaint.

In the month of Sept.2017 a representative (Sales Officer) from HDFC bank visited my work place. I was in need of a personal loan So, I submitted the required documents in this regard. As per my salary details the HDFC representative (Sales Officer) advised me to fill the special form (called Gold Customer loan form used for 10 lakh and above amount) at the interest rate 11.49 %.But on 27 Sep. after the bank proceedings, I got the message that 900000 rupees loan is approved as per my submitted details but interest rate was not mentioned there in the message (Sanding screenshot of the message).So, I talked to the representative (Sales Officer) of HDFC bank .He assured me to solve the matter at both level (Loan amount which would be 10 lacks or more and interest rate which should be clearly mentioned 11.49 but not mentioned any rate). After some days he told me to submit the two cheques and my both problems are solved by him but after some days I was surprised to get the message that my loan amount was still 900000 and interest rate will be 13.50 %. I talked to the representative (Sales Officer) but all in vain.

So, I decided to freeze my bank account services in which HDFC bank was going to credit the loan amount at the interest rate 13.50%. But the same representative (Sales Officer) again visited my work place and gave the assurance of loan manager telephonically Hissar(HDFC Main Branch) Branch that after the payment of 3 installments my loan amount must be increased and interest rate will be reduced to 11.49%. So, I didn’t freeze my account.

After the payment of 3 installments I approached the HDFC representative (Sales Officer) and submitted the documents again with the hike of 6000 rupees in my salary than my previous salary. But at that time he (Sales Officer) told me that loan manager is changed and according to New manager there is not rule of reducing the loan interest rate at the payment of 3 installments . But the New Loan Manager assured me to pay at least 5-6 installments and my problem must be solved 100 %. But after the payment of 6 installments I again submitted my documents for some extra loan amount and to decrease the interest rate. After the bank process I got the message that loan with interest rate of 14.75% and amount 1200000 rupees in total . I was shocked because the interest rate in much higher than before. I talked to the HDFC representative and loan manager almost for one month but all in vain.

But I was shocked by loan manager telephonically that he is not able to solve my problem. But the way of talking of the loan manager was not customer friendly(Audio file attached). My complaint’s History with HDFC

I have no option so that a registered a complaint on hdfc Complaint portal on dated 20 June 2018 vide reference number HBL[protected]. After a few days a got an email having wording that my Complaint is resolved by Hdfc for that I visited the branch but nothing was happened because interest rate was not decreased. In the said Email a contact number is given to know the status of my complaint. So, I contacted Ms Upasana, she told me that she had sent the report that customer(Anil Kumar) have been cheated by the HDFC representative (Sales Officer) and loan manager by supplying wrong information . But when I ask about the solution of my complaint she said what you want from HDFC as a solution of your complaint. I simply told her that I want that HDFC will keep his promise by treating the interest 11.49% from starting on my personal loan and an action against the employees who did the fake promises to me. She advised me to send a mail in this regard. I sent that. But no response I got..

It was almost 13 days of my complaint but no positive solution for me .So, I proceeded the second step of my matter and registered a Grievance on dated 03/07/2018 having no HBL=[protected] but I did not get any response for HDFC till 12 july, I sent my complaint to the Nodal Officer having Complaint number HBL[protected] .But from 21 july they are just sending that they need 3 more days ( this is happened 3 times, attached the screenshot).

After a few days I connected to the HDFC helpline number and I was shocked to know that the officer Ms.Upasana remarked on my complaint that audio files and other documents I have provided are of after the loan approval but same officer telephonically told me that I have been cheated by the hdfc representative (Sales Officer) and loan manager and same remark is forwarded to the higher authority (attaching the audio files in this regard).From that time I came to the conclusion that HDFC might solve my problem at its end. Anyhow still in wrote an email to the Principal Nodal officer of HDFC Bank on dated 05 August 2018 but till date nothing was happened. After that I forwarded my complaint to RBI with a hope that you will do the justice and I have already emailed this on Aug 28, 2018, 2:19 PM at [protected]@rbi.org.in .As a result they(HDFC) issued a complaint number this time as well having no.(HBL=[protected] but nothing favorable for me. On dated 16 Sept. 2018 I again complaint to RBI Lokpal through online Portal. Now waiting for the solution for supreme authority of the Banks.

We also submit that rate of interest on personal loans are fixed in consideration of the lending risk, cost of funds, security (if applicable), profile of borrowers etc. The rate offered to you is in line with our pricing norms for prime clients and sincerely request you to accept the same. The loan agreement is a formal and legal record of the terms/conditions which have been accepted by you and by executing the agreement digitally you are deemed to have accepted the same and bound yourself to repay the loan in the manner indicated above. There is no provision for any amendment in ROI, reduction in processing fees unless it is confirmed in writing by the bank. Should you hold any such written communication issued by our authorized sales representative, then please furnish to us at [protected]@hdfcbank.com for our internal investigation.

Please send or provide me the copy of my loan form as soon as possible or such doccument in which i gave the assurance that i convinced on the interest rate 13.50 imposed by hdfc .
