HDFC Bank — Deduction of program management fee

Very unfair and fraud bank - hdfc bank. I checked my account and found deduction of rs. 100 + service task and that is for deduction of program management fee. What type of fees is this... No intimation from bank for such deduction, no news highlight.. It is clear to close the account in hdfc bank. Even i will suggest every body to close account in hdfc bank.

I can see the same with my account. The bank did not notify me of any such fees in advance. It is a fraud.

I noticed that HDFC bank has charged Programme Management fees to my Savings account when my account even does not match the given criteria for being treated as a preferred customer. Further, they have sent no notification to me for upgrading me as their preferred customer. And when I asked them about degrading the status of my account, they say I have to visit the nearest branch for the same. I am calling their RM for last few days & yet no response. The Bank has just ended up causing me inconvenience.
They have also been charging me for the NEFT transactions I do. If am a preferred customer & they charge me for the same, then why do they charge for my NEFT transactions too. Am very disappointed with the services of HDFC Bank, especially for their poor customer support after raising a complaint. When I try to trace my complaint status with the reference number they had given me, it says that my reference number cannot be traced & I have to reach a nearest branch.
Am going to close my account with this Bank as they simply focus on charging me fees for which I am not entitled to pay. And also am planning to file a complaint with the RBI regarding the same.
I notice the same deduction in my account today. HDFC bank is fraud. How can they charge without any notification. I never asked for any special service. Can someone from hdfc explain on what basis you are charging?

Quoting from Indian Banking Association site...

"Changes to Terms and Conditions
a. When you become a customer, we will tell you of changes to terms and conditions through any of the following channels :-
i) Account statements/ Pass book
ii) ATMs
iii) &nbsp ; Notice Board at each branch
iv) Internet, including email and website
v) Newspaper
b. Normally, changes will be made with prospective effect giving notice of one month.
c. If we have made any change without notice we will notify the change within 30 days . If such change is to your disadvantage, you may within 60 days and without notice close your account or switch it without having to pay any extra charges or interest.
d. If we have made a major change or a lot of minor changes in any one year" ... So it clearly means you are in violation as the change was without notice but was not notified within 30 days as required because you are charging the fee from Jan onwards and it is much more than 40 days since.. HDFC needs to reverse this fee immediately.. Thanks!
Just checked my account and got to know that HDFC bank have deducted an amount of RS 100+service charge from my savings account.when I checked it thoroughly got to know that they hv taken it as programme management fee.What a bogus fee that programme management is?I am heard this for this first time.This is very unethical practice by HDFC bank, and there is no such criteria from RBI to charge for programme management .If this amount will not be deducted to me within a week, then I will be bound to close my account with such a blood thirsty bank.Not only me i will definitely close the account of my family members as well as friends.lets see who is benefiting from this fraudulent drive.Also request to all those who are the victims of the same drive to close down all business with hdfc.
Yes, accounts can be closed within 60 days without any penalty and they have to reimburse this charge too.. Its in the IBA guidelines which the banks operating in India have to follow.. If they don't, there are action groups and Ombudsman to resolve the issue speedily..
Please write to Reserve Bank of india with this complaint. if there are many complaints RBI will take action. I don't think IRDA has any say in this.

Rs 100 may be "nominal charge" for HDFC bank, but for us it represents substantial amount of money. If it is nominal then I request the Bank to bear that charge from its deep pockets.

This is by chance I googled and found about this Program Management fees. This is totally unethical approach on the part of the bank to withdraw money from our account without notice or without our permission. Atleast they should seek permission from us whether we want this privilege or not?

i have 8 account in hdfc, and of they they do not reverse it i will rave to close all accounts...

Same happened with me, I just checked my account and found Rs 115 to be debited. This is totally unethical and unacceptable. How can you - HDFC charge without even prior information, no message, email etc..

And in above comments, I see HDFC customer care staff suggesting for some stupid utter waste (atleast for me) benefits from this so called HDFC Premier Banking Programme..

Arey yaar, this is totally unacceptable! I will rush to the bank tomorrow, if not refunded i will close the account with you immediately.

Already, we are suffering with lot of taxes in every step we take and trusting you, I'm saving my hard earned money with HDFC and you do this??? God! I'm afraid...:(

HDFC Bank Assistance
HDFC bank is levying Programme Management Fee of Rs 115/- per quarter on my savings bank account starting from January 2016 for facilities like discount on locker charges, preferential pricing on loans and cards, dedicated Relationship Manager, unlimited free usage of domestic ATMs and many others. If I am not using any of these facilities and am not likely to use any of these facilities why is HDFC bank forcibly charging this fee. It should actually be an optional facility. They can charge it as and when customers use these named facilities. Is this fair trade practice on the part of HDFC bank? With pressure on banks to recover NPA's it looks like HDFC bank has found an easy way to recover it from unsuspecting customers?

Same happen with me without any info they charged 115rs... and now telling BS that many kind premium service u r providing... i don't want any service because same services other bank are providing free...not to make fool customer by oral policy which never works...
I also face similar problem. My family have 4 saving A/Cs & many FD RD DMAT also. I do not have other option so I have to close all account and my 10+ years relation with HDFC is going to end soon. This is cheating because many banks are not charging such fees and giving better service. I talk also to personal banker but still No action has been taken.
HDFC will not do anything just they will copy and paste their post and their duty is over. Why they have not intimated about the deduction?? what kind of extra benefit they are giving ???? there are banks visiting 5 times in a month with no extra cost - I have 10 years relation with HDFC I know them well. If you have good amount of money in bank additional facilities are freely provided. I am not taking any such facilities though it has been charged. On request of personal banker I opened DMAT RD FD and now paying extra - strange - No issue we have option to other banks
