[Resolved] HDFC Bank — call fraud to sell classicassure plus policy with many benefits | |||
This is a fraud to sell an existing policy promising enhanced benefit over call as direct marketers from the company. This was through a normal tele-caller on 28-29 april 2018 which detailed a policy which was promising and i moved from one senior to another finally reaching a person called rupesh choudhry ([protected]; only today i checked trucaller having a name shriman meena; my first mistake). He detailed the policy which was lucrative but i did not take the policy that day but i postponed it to the next day. On 30th april, he called and confirmed the same details with the policy name classicassure plus. I checked the policy and enquired about the above online listed returns to which he explained that it was a promotion. He built the credibility by saying he was from the same state which was confirmed by his accent. As he was a real agent of hdfc life he could see my previous policies and generate a payment mechanisms through the authorized website. I got into the trap first because that online offers are so common these days and i was greedy (I accept this as my biggest mistake). He promised multiple documentations through the next 2 months and four confirmation calls for the policy details. He had instructed that not to ask for all details from the first two as they were third party (Confirmed by the callers) and may not confirm all details to which i agreed (Another mistake; again driven by higher returns). The last 2 calls said they were from hdfclife and gave away all the benefits promised by the mr rupesh who i some how now trusted as everything was going as he had told. He had promised two sets of document one the policy kit and second the bond paper. The policy kit came in more than one month on 19th july 2018 which did not contain any benefits to which he had earlier only confirmed that all details would be the bond paper as policy kit was only for reference (Another mistake). The bond paper never came, mr rupesh only kept on asking for extensions for 15 days at a time and all the while he was very credible on the call. During this period the review period of 30 days for the policy had elapsed and i was left with a big loss of inr 30, 000 I had raised this as a complaint on [protected]@hdfclife.com today evening. They have confirmed that nothing can be done and were ready to help for a fraud. But it was late evening by then. My question is can hdfclife not control these frauds which are using its policies through its system to cheat people or are they happy to sell policies through them as no sane person could buy a policy which give -7% returns I would request hdfc life if it can refund my amount and take action against the agent name listed in my policy kit as below Harigopal properties private limited, address: 301 amba tower dc chowk sector 9, rohini delhi code 00705238 license no: ca0446 contact details: [protected] Although hdfc life does not show action on this as its website link for fraud agents (https://www.hdfclife.com/terminated-agents-list) goes to investor relation page Was this information helpful? | |||
