[Resolved]  HDFC Bank Life Insurance — fraud call

I received a call from an agent of hdfc life insurance who identified himself as sanjay gupta from mobile number: [protected].

He claimed i had taken the 'classic assured plus plan' policy in 2013 for which i had paid rs. 50, 000 as premium of which i have no recollection whatsoever. He asked me why i had discontinued the policy and that i could now continue or take a refund. As per him the policy number is 23485359 and the premium paid on 23-mar-2013 was rs. 50, 000. He said the value of my policy is now rs. 1, 38, 000 and that i can process a refund. However, he refused to send me any policy details by email and asked me to note down the details.

He seemed to have my personal details like address etc. He also gave me the number of mr manish chouhan, who is supposedly the customer relationship manager. The number of mr. Manish chouhan given to me is [protected].

Could you please confirm if this is a fake call or a genuine call?
