I had bought 3 nos rav518erd window airconditioners in aug 2011. One of the units displayed e9 error message recently and i registered a service call with hitachi service center. Their engineer diagnosed the problem as defective dc motor which required replacement. Their estimate for the part and service was rs 10, 500!!! I am shocked at the extortionate charges that hitachi levies for their after sales service, which on top of the premium pricing for their products, makes the cost of ownership very high. All oems must be compelled to sell and stock their parts at their authorized dealers so that a consumer has a choice and does not have to rely only on the manufacturer for parts and service. My advice to potential buyers of hitachi products - think twice! Was this information helpful? | |||
