[Resolved] Ibibo Group / Goibibo — name correction request not accepted by goibibo | |||
I booked a group ticket for 5 people on 2-December-2018 for travel date 3-May-2019. There was a slight mistake observed in a passenger's surname. I checked the option on Goibibo's website and fortunately I found that; however post doing all the processes I received a call from Goibibo and that lady told that this correction can't be done. You need to cancel the ticket. It was actually surprising however, I thought that the cancellation and rebooking can be another good option. I asked to proceed for the same but the gentleman told that the cancellation charge is 100% and you won't get refund of the ticket. Within a day when I booked the ticket that too for 6 months later I was told that I will not get any refund. It was very disappointing as it is my hard earned money. I contacted their higher management but all in vain, they too had the similar solution that I will get 0 refund. I thought their CEO certainly can look into the matter but he has never replied to any of my emails out of 10 which I sent to him since 6th December. We checked booking details and observed that our Management team already replied with the closure, stating we received a denial from the airlines on the name change and was advised on cancel and rebook option, as per the process. Also, as you denied changes and cancellation, we left the booking as it is. NOTE: In case, ticket falls in no-show purview, applicable No Show Charges would be added apart from cancellation charges mentioned above or the ticket will be treated as non-refundable. If a mistake of fll name is of 1 letter, the passenger usually can not face any prob.
The air carrier duty is to correct the passenger name, if a mistake of more than 1 letter in the name, free of charge or for a fee.
The service provider / air carrier has max 15 days to make the correction in the eticket or
to issue the e-ticket new, if the name is incorrect in full (for example, a traveller is a different passenger) .
If the air carrier failed to respond in max 15 days.
Note, it is usless to request the same subject matter more than 2 times from the same service provider.
All disputes in 15 days following the correct complaint receipt are subject of the examination by Indian court.
There are 3 different regulations can be involved in such cases.
The expected expences for legal assitance can be:
-- government fees [200-2500 ruppes ] per a passenger,
- legal fees for assistance of a lawyer or of legal professional [ from 8000 till 15000 rupees total] for such type of cases.
ADVISE: save each e-ticket / correspondence with the air carrier or with the servcie provider.
