[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — Account freeze without any intimation

My name is Srinath. Yesterday i received an sms from ICICI bank as "SR[protected]: Dear Customer, As a precautionary measure, Acct XX651 has been frozen temporarily to prevent misuse. Pls visit branch and submit recent trxn dtls." after performing failed UPI Transactions. The money was not deducted from the account but my account is not operational as it was frozen by the bank.

Immediately called the customer care and asked them to unfreeze the account but they asked me to visit the nearest branch and get it resolved, Now, i was clueless as to why my account was frozen by the bank as even the call center or customer support executives are also unware of the reason. so I visited the bank and spoke to the bank manager about the issue. To my surprise, they informed me that they cannot unfreeze the account and i have to call customer care. I did not understand the issue and i called the customer support from the bank and asked both of them to resolve the issue.
The Deputy Bank Manager says that the customer support is not able to understand the issue and he said he will look into it. now i have waited for an hour and still he was handling other customers but not mine. I approached the bank manager and informed about the issue. The Bank manager made few calls and told me that they have "frozen my account to prevent fraudulent transactions."

Now, he also told me that they have designed the system that way when you deposit some amount into the system and immediately remove the funds then that account could be froze by their central banking system. So i explained about the transactions i have performed on the account and i do not see any fraudulent transactions in the account. He informed me that my account will be unfreeze within 24 hrs and asked me to check it. Today i have checked by trying to perform UPI transactions linked to the icici bank but none of the transactions are working.

Request you to take action on this item and get my account unfroze as soon as possible.
