ICICI Bank — Credit Card Charges amounting up to 3500

I am a privileged ICICI bank customer and was recently offered a credit card based on the same. Last four digit of my linked credit card number is 5000 & 6007.

Being a new credit card customer, I was not aware of my billing cycle and my payment date, due to which I happen to miss and made a delayed payment. Basis which I have been levied heavy charges/GST amount to approx. 3.5k in consecutive 2 months statement. I have settled the entire spent amount on my credit card of my recent statement well before the due date excluding these charges. I did call and inform your customer care regarding the concern that I did not get any notification or SMS regarding my credit card statement due to which my payment got delayed and I will take care of the same in future. Also being a new credit card customer i was not aware of the billing cycle and will take care of now on. Customer care confirmed the waiver of these charges and said that you will get a call to. But unfortunately the same is not waived off and my December statement got generated with again the same charges and interest.

Why should a customer be penalized so heavily when he/she did not receive any payment notification and why the charges cannot be waived off by the bank as a one time gesture...

Very bad experience with ICICI credit card ...

I am highly disappointed with the ICICI Credit card department as they are unable to resolve such petty issue of reversal of charges with no fault of the customer. Now the bank will generate another bill levying more interest, GST on the same charges being carried forward. I have settled all my other expenses on the last 2 statements as well. Why is this so much of a challenge for the bank to give a one time reversal as i received no notification from the bank for my statement or due date. And as stated earlier I am a new customer of ICICI credit card.

Today I get a call from Soumya from Credit card escalation team, who instead of resolving my concern, is asking me to settle all the due in full so that the charges are not carried forward in the next month statement. She is not providing me any assurance/confirmation on the reversal of my charges which is a very high penalty amounting upto 3400rs.
This is the first time i get to speak to someone from credit card department but it was it clear my dues not to resolve my complaint.
I request someone from credit card team to call me & give me a solution to my issue.
