I am a privileged ICICI bank customer and was recently offered a credit card based on the same. Last four digit of my linked credit card number is 5000 & 6007.
Being a new credit card customer, I was not aware of my billing cycle and my payment date, due to which I happen to miss and made a delayed payment. Basis which I have been levied heavy charges/GST amount to approx. 3.5k in consecutive 2 months statement. I have settled the entire spent amount on my credit card of my recent statement well before the due date excluding these charges. I did call and inform your customer care regarding the concern that I did not get any notification or SMS regarding my credit card statement due to which my payment got delayed and I will take care of the same in future. Also being a new credit card customer i was not aware of the billing cycle and will take care of now on. Customer care confirmed the waiver of these charges and said that you will get a call to. But unfortunately the same is not waived off and my December statement got generated with again the same charges and interest.
Why should a customer be penalized so heavily when he/she did not receive any payment notification and why the charges cannot be waived off by the bank as a one time gesture...
