[Resolved] ICICI Bank — Credit Card Fraud even after closing the Credit Card almost couple of years back. | |||||
Hello Everyone. This is regarding the credit card statement i am keep on getting for a credit card which i do not own. I had a credit card almost couple of years back from ICICI bank which i closed somewhere in the month of March 2014 and i even cut the card and threw away as per ICICI Bank customer care executive. However i noticed couple o[censored]nauthorized transactions on this card (Which i had closed by calling the customer care couple of years back) on 5th Nov 2015, which i have no idea why it happened. How come someone make a transaction on my closed credit card after almost 2 yrs? Why was the credit card still active even when i had requested to close the card? if it was active why there was no intimation to me about it? I called somewhere end of Nov to ICICI bank customer care using my NRI services since i even do not know what was the credit card number i used to have earlier to call directly the credit card department. I spoke to one of the executive from credit card department, as per her confirmation the unauthorized transaction was not successful and card was blocked before it went through (False information provided by the credit card department of ICICI Bank). When i asked why did it even try to make the transaction in the first place when closure of the card was requested, she did not have any answer but she said it was not completely closed. Now come on what is meant by completely closed? Don't you guys understand the meaning of close when i confirmed to close the card couple of years back and what do you mean by completely closed? Again if the card was not completely closed then why wasn't it was informed to me? Later she said she is going to submit a service request to close the card COMPLETELY (per your understanding) and gave me a service request number - SR[protected]. After all this drama i thought that card was COMPLETELY closed, however i am keep on getting credit card statement to my mailing address in India and to my email ID reminding me to pay the balance. Now let me tell you i am no where related to this credit card, i do not know anything about any transaction and i am not going to make any payment. I just want make ICICI Bank sure about the same and also i need ICICI bank to resolve the issue and stop sending the statement to my email immediately. This has become some kind of mental harassment.
