[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — Debit card is not associated with my ICICI account

I received a new ICICI debit card but the card is not associated with my account. I setup a PIN through phone banking, but the card does not appear in the internet banking account nor in imobile pay app. Since I was not able to do internet transactions when I tried, I called up Customer Care. They are telling me to set a debit card spending limit, but I can't set a limit until the card gets displayed in my account.

I assume the card has to automatically appear in my account. Isnt the debit card issued based on my account, in the first place?

I tried to take a screenshot but the imobile app is not allowing it for security reasons.

I resolved this on my own, after spending half a day on it. Apparently, once we receive the debit card, we have to go to Bank Accounts > ATM/Debit Card related > Link ATM/Debit Card to Account. Only then will it be linked. Please do this (link account with new card) automatically, or give explicit instructions in the sheet of paper you send with Debit Card. Worst case, please educate your customer service people about this process. I was mislead by them to try other options, as mentioned in the complaint.
