In July 2022, I began the online application process for a home loan with ICICI. A sales representative guided me through the process, informing me that approval and disbursement would take 2 to 6 weeks. I submitted all required documents.
By August 2022, all documents were accepted, and I was instructed to pay the loan administration fees.
However, in September 2022, after making the payment, there was no communication for over 2 to 3 weeks. In October, I was asked to resubmit all documents.
The following months were marked by repeated requests for documents, changes in relationship managers, and prolonged waiting periods. In April 2023, my loan application was approved, but it expired before disbursement due to delays. A new application was raised in May 2023, with additional administrative fees paid and documents resubmitted. The loan was sanctioned promptly, but disbursement awaited.
Further delays ensued due to various reasons such as signature requirements, changes in relationship managers, and issues with documentation. Tragically, personal health issues and family emergencies compounded the stress. By February 2024, even after the passing of my power of attorney, incorrect account details on the disbursement cheque further prolonged the process.
As of March 2024, I continue to await the printing of a new cheque after appointing a new power of attorney. RM now not responding to any calls or messages.
