It appears ICIC bank has come up with new fraud where the bank representative calls the customer saying balance more than one lakh is existing in the bank so convert to mod FD saving account which would convert some amount to FD with no negative issues. As transaction progresses the balance gets below FD amount you are charged penalty of 590/- in spite of having adequate balance in account. I am also facing the same issue.

Hi
i also was charged Rs. 590. did some digging to find that .ICICI Bank charges a fee of ₹500 per instance for NACH/ECS debit returns for financial reasons. The bank can recover up to three instances per month for the same mandate.
NACH stands for National Automated Clearing House, a system that allows for the electronic transfer of funds between banks. Banks and financial institutions charge a fee to process automated transactions through the NACH system. This fee is known as the NACH RTN charge, which is levied when a transaction fails due to a lack of funds or other reasons.
To avoid NACH return charges, it is recommended to maintain sufficient funds in your account at least a day before the payment date.
this can sometimes happen to salaried account holders, whose monthly salary usually exhausts by the end of a every month, and any delay in transfer of monthly salary may lead to a and EMI return. But if above is not the reason and you feel that money was deducted unlawfully, pls write to the bank customer care. they will refund it.
