[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — ICICI forcing customers to become repulsive and turning accounts into NPA

I have been a priority account holder of ICICI Bank for over 10 years and have also been using ICICI Bank's credit cards and personal loans for 15 years or so now. I have so far not faced any major concerns that needed escalation but the absolutely ruthless and irresponsible behavior of the cards division has forced me to escalate this matter. I have duly been responding to official mails and keeping the bank posted on my situation and appealed for a little time and that I am ready to bear with the charges being levied. I am only aiding the lender in earning additional income through the exorbitant amount of interest that is being charged.

Despite all my appeals, every single email of mine is being ignored by the respective departments as well as the social media team and the account has been put on a lien hold.

To re-iterate, I have been out of town for over a month due to some urgent family issues and have been on the runaround attending to these issues causing me a lot of stress while at the same time also caught up in a mess of KYC with with my alternate account for which the only answer I am getting is to go to the home branch which is in NCR and I am right now NOT in NCR to deal with this. ICICI is my only active account at the moment and every functionality in the account has been blocked over this lien. At this point I will need to be able to use my phone to attend calls from my office and also be able to access my WhatsApp for messages from my workplace. But ICICI executives are making life miserable with their incessant calls and demanding immediate payments.

I got a friend to transfer some funds into my account but now this ridiculous "lien" is preventing me from even transferring funds from my ICICI Account to my credit card. Now how am I to even use this account or even make the payment, if my account is inoperable. I am trying to get someone to just reactivate my account and just take the minimum due that is outstanding. Besides it is pertinent to mention that last month's minimum dues were at least partly paid hastily even though I was having financial crisis even back then. As for this month, it has not even been 5 days past the deadline.

Most of all, I find it completely irresponsible and a habit of only illiterate people to use WhatsApp as a mode of official communication as though they are not even literate enough to read or comprehend emails or have not understood the basic requirement of any job profile to read their official mailboxes.

How will it help the bank if let's suppose due to ICICI executives' harassment I am forced to switch my salary account due to lien hold? Even the amount that is available in the account only fulfils part of the total payment outstanding on the credit card. By doing this, the employees of the bank are by themselves antagonising a loyal long-term customer towards repulsive behavior. I keep on getting calls from idiotic third party collection agents who employ uncivilised methods of conversation and my WhatsApp is being spammed to the point that I have to keep it muted for most of the day.

Requesting your help to have this lien removed and allow me to make the minimum due payments after the upcoming bill generation. Alternatively, please ask whoever has put this lien hold to just draw out the current minimum due of Rs 8500 odd Rs and let me use the account normally. I didn't expect ICICI bank to have employees with no regard to anyone's problems. Every single person, irrespective of their credibility and their creditworthiness will have some problems at some part of their lives and once, just ONCE after 1.5 decades, the first ever payment miss can't be treated with such brutality when I have been giving far more than what I owe in the form of interest and charges I have paid on the various ICICI bank products including insurance policies.
