[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — non-reversal o[censored]nauthorised charges and shut off account

I have this account for atleast more than 12-13 years.
It has all started from November, where i had 2 SMAB deductions done to my account. and I wrote a mail to the customer care saying that they are suppose to inform me about the information as all banks do before deducting the amount after which both my SMAB charges were reversed.
I later told them to shut the Account as i was anyways not using the account, which they did not do and also not bothered to respond back to. I got busy with my work and thought the account would get shut and the balance would be send as draft at my residential address as per their service.
I later again got a statement in which they had not shut my account and due to which there was 1 more SMAB charge done, i requested them to reserve that and shut my account on immediate basis. but the Customer care person then insisted me to go to my Main branch and do the needful.
It was difficult for me to do so as i am a working professional and have to take a holiday to visit the bank. Then one the third saturday of december i decided to go to my Main branch and put the request for closure and reversal. I visited my branch on 16th DEC where i waited there for more than an hour which was itself very disappointing and after which when i was attended by a person and told my issue, he arrogantly told me that i was very well educated and should visit the ICICI bank site and read its terms and conditions on which i got pissed off and told him that i am uneducated and do not know to read and write and then should the bank not inform its customer via an email, sms or a call that such an amount would be deducted or there is any such complience carried by the bank. I also informed him that ideally the bank is not suppose to deduct any amount without customers knowledge on which he said that its the banks Guideline which is well informed while opening Account and to which i told him that this account of mine is at-least 13+ yrs old and as per my knowledge there was no guidelines like that at that time.
He then somehow got ready to reverse the charges and took my written application for Account closure and told that it would be done in 5-7 days and the balance amount with the reversal amount would be transferred to the other bank account given by me to him. I then thought that it would be done and max in 10-15 days the amount should be in my account.
I again got busy and forgot about the issue and got a statement again in January with another SMAB charged to me. Now this was like a limit to my patience after which i inquired from my nearest branch regarding this and was promised that he has escalated the issue and the Account would be shut and the reversals would reflect in my account in few days. After which i withdrew the balance amount i had in that account as i did not trust the bank anymore.
Now in February i have again got a statement and a SMAB amount has again been charged to me which is now in negative as i did not keep any balance in my Account.
This is like a hell lot of harassment to me now and would want a compensation to me along with the reversal of the amount on immediate basis as this issue is going on since 3 months and atleast 50 days from my written application for shut of Account.
I wrote about this complaint to the Customer care which was then replied back by Ms. Prithi Jotrao some Customer Care Manager saying that the Bank had levied the charges correctly and the reversals would not happen.
I am really surprised by her mail as i have clearly written that the charges are levied to me after a request for shut of Account and an official written application for the same as well.
Now i really want to know that does it take so many days to shut an account as my account is still active and i am sure one more SMAB charges would be put on soon as the account is not shut.
I am so very tired with the ICICI bank and would like to take this to RBI level and also write to media of the kind of service the bank provides and the harassment a customer gets from the Bank.
Most horrible experience i have ever had in so many year. Really pissed off and tired of the harassment. Want all my reversals now with a compensation and a written appoligy letter from Bank or else for sure this is going to media.

After this complain i got my refund but i would never recommend ICICI bank to anyone and the arrogance Ms. Shibani of Powai branch has.
