I have made a payment of 19445.10 on 30th August (where my due date was 2nd Sep) but I was displayed an error message saying "Transaction failed" with no reference numbers generated. But the amount was debited from the account.
I immediately called the customer care (and waited for 20 minutes before someone responded) and explained the whole situation to them. Then the representative assured that I'd get my money back in 7 working days and now I have to pay the due amount again.
Trusting the representative, I've again made the payment for the entire amount (I couldn't wait to verify whether the previously paid amount got credited towards my credit card as the CR said that it would take at least 3 days to get the money reflected, but that would breach the due date), this time the transaction was successful and a reference number was generated.
However, on 3rd of September, I was surprised to see two messages from icici saying that the amount got credited towards the credit card.
I immediately called the customer care again (and waited for 25 minutes this time) and explained what happened.
I was asked to send the statement of the bank account from which I've made the payment. I did the same immediately.
The SR number raised by them was SR[protected]
After sending the statement, I received a message stating that they haven't received the document yet. However, I've received the acknowledgement immediately after sending the mail.
Again called the customer care (wait time was 20 minutes) and told them the same. I was asked to send it again. I did it again. This time with the screenshot of the debit transaction (as the statement was still not generated for that transaction)
Today, on 6th September, I received a mail from them at around 1PM and informed me that it's under process.
Again at 4.15PM, i received another email saying that it cannot be processed and contact customer care for the details.
I called them at around 8.40pm and got connected with the CR within 5 minutes this time (though sounds as unbelievable).
He was asking some verification details and then put me on hold for verifying the details of the complaint.
All of a sudden, I heard an IVR saying that "Customer service is available only till 9pm and was thrown out of the call"
Luckily, I got all the calls recorded in my mobile and also have the back and forth emails hence taking steps towards filling a legal case in the consumers forum for all the hassles faced and all the valuable time wasted on this.
Needless to say, I'm soon going to cancel the credit card as I've seen the taste of their service.
