ICICI Bank — Unethical charges - credit card - annual fee charged even after cancellation request

I had been an icici credit card user for last 5 years, and last january my credit card payment reached them on 2nd february, against the pay by date of 30th jan. (There were a saturday & sunday banking holidays).

Though i requested for reversal of extra interest of over 1300/- icic team didn't reverse, and i escalated this to customer care head, principal nodal officer and now to level 4 officers. It was sad to see they were insistent on the charges, mentioning that there were a 2 day delay (Where as rbi recently has intimated all banks that they cannot charge customer upto 2 days delay from the due dates).

However, i just thought, anyway let me stop using icici service, and pay off whatever icici want to loot a customer from. Thus made the full payment and intimated to close the card, and send a no dues certificate. I had intimated request for cancellation in february itself.

Now, they have levied a 5th year annual fee and again asking me for this payment, where as there is no single rupee due from my end, either on usage or in terms of interest fee.

Surprised to see the march statement, charging interest for the annual fee and threatening me of charging further dues if i don't make this payment immediately.

This is not acceptable and icici cannot take such one sided decision and loot the customer by torturing them.

I will have to take it now to banking ombudsmen level for the support from such kind o[censored]nethical behaviours from icici credit card department.

Hope i will get a genuine response after analysing my case.

Okay, but I had written to customer care, and Head Services, and also Nodal Officer... The upsetting response came from Level 4 escalation. Hope I get a resolution soon.
