In the month of November 2003, I had been given/issued one Credit Card (No.[protected]) by ICICI Bank with a credit limit of Rs.25, 000/-.in the month of December 2004, the card was replaced with a new card No. [protected] with a credit limit of Rs.36, 300. Since then I had been paying my all dues within due dates against the transaction made through the card. A detailed statement is enclosed.
I did not get any statement in the month April 2005 i. e. statement dated 25/03/2005. Inspite of my repeated calls to customer care, they did not send the statement. However, they informed me that the total dues of the statement were Rs.7, 581.80. On 09/05/2005, the customer care executive called me and asked for the aforesaid payment. I had requested her to send me a duplicate statement for my records. However, assuming the dues are correct I paid the dues and on 10.05.2005 an agent named Rajkumar Pal (Agency Name – F. F.) had collected a Cheque No.256360 dtd. 10.05.05 drawn on Citibank NA for Rs.7, 581.80 from me. Copy of the receipt is enclosed.
In the next statement dtd. April 26, 2005, it was found that the following charges were debited.
a) Late payment charge - Rs.533.06
b) Interest - Rs.696.38
c) Service Tax – Rs.125.40
I had sent to the bank an email dtd. 17/05/2005 to the email id as mentioned in the statement and requested them to reverse the charges as the late payment of dues was unintentional and due to non-receipt of statement. I had also informed them to cancel my card if for whatever reason; they were unable to reverse the charges. However, I did not get any reply from their end. But they had been charging late payment fee and interest and sending the statement. Hence I stopped using the card since August 2005.
I had sent many emails describing the fact and requesting to cancel the card but in vein.
On 28/11/2005 I had received a letter (Ref. No.112205/1356604C) from Mr. George Bijesh, Customer Service Executive of the bank confirming reverse of late payment charge of Rs.300/- and interest charge of Rs.114.30 whereas till the date they had already charged Rs.4, 160.17 towards Late Payment fees, interest and service tax. A detailed sheet is enclosed.
They had also sent me one LIFETIME FREE credit card (No.[protected]) but I had requested them to cancel vide my letter dated 05/12/2005 in reply to their letter dated 28/11/2005.
On December 12, 2005, I had received another letter (Ref No.121005/1373209C) from George Bijesh regarding cancellation of the card. He confirmed that my cancellation request is registered. But after that they were sending the card statement till April 2006. A detailed sheet is enclosed.
In the month of December, 2007, I had bought one car from India Automobiles (1960) Ltd. and the sales person had arranged car loan from ICICI Bank. Inspite of my reservation, on request of the sales person, I had agreed and accepted. The loan account number is LACAL[protected]. It was three years tenure with an EMI of Rs.14, 299/- ended on 05/11/2010. I repaid in full and received NOC dated 25/11/2010.
I had received a letter No. CMP/MLTI/30573/30573 dated 12/02/2009 from the bank confirming satisfactory repayment track in the loan account. The signatory of the letter wanted to understand the reason for the non-payment of dues of the credit card. I had explained the reason in my reply letter dated 20/02/2009. Copies of the letters are enclosed.
No need to mention that I have other credit cards of different banks and loan account with other banks. But repayment tracks in terms of EMI and credit card dues are very satisfactory and never miss/bounce any payment.
