ICICI Direct — Demat a/c linking and delinking charges - unknown to the bank executives | |||||
My Demat a/c is a 10 year old a/c with ICICI DIRECT. I had a problem with my Savings A/c linked with Demat A/c for trading on ICICIDIRECT. I wanted to delink the existing savings a/c from the Demat A/c and wanted to link with my other savings A/c. I approached the ICICI Bank Lokhandwala Branch -in Mid September 2015- they accepted my request - the bank did the linking and delinking according to them all was done. When i checked my Demat A/c - the savings a/c linked was same old a/c and not changed to the new a/c. When contacted the branch they said to visit the nearest ICICIDirect Branch to get the same done. I approached the JP. Road Branch in Andheri West- I contacted the executive and discussed the issue. Here i would like to inform that i had a discussion on the charges with the executive and he did not mention on any charges. However the request was completed and on Oct 03, 2015 the bank debited my a/c with Rs. 500/- as EBA-Bank A/c Link-Delinking charges with value date 02 Oct 2015. I approached the bank executives and asked if there are any such charges applicable - neither the executive Mr. Rahul Motwani who had taken this request, nor his Team leader and the then RM Mr. Kuldeep Singh for my demat A/c had knowledge of such charges- first they point blank refused and when informed that such charges have been levied they replied they will check and come back. No one responded for 02 days. I had simultaneously taken up the matter with my Savings A/c Manager Ms. Leena- who too did not respond due to reasons best know to them. I contacted customer care -they too initially declined on such charges and finally they said these arefranking charges. Even if they were franking charges - it was the duty of the executive to explain and inform me to update on the charges. I approached online customer service on 19 Nov, 2015 thru online chat and one Mr. Singh was online, he too said there was no bank charges for linking and delinking- when informed that it has been debited to my a/c. he said he will check and that i did better approach the nearest icicidirect branch and take up the matter with them. When the ICICIDirect executives, Relationship Managers, Customer Care Center Executives are not aware for such charges how do you expect a customer to know. Over and above the document is genrally signed and given to the exective and no one reads the fine print on the form. So such important charges if any, is the duty of the bank executives to convey to the customer before taking up the request and alos known fact to the executive that the form is franked. There was no mention by the executive for the charges. I was simply told to sign and asked for relevant supporting documents. Now when the matter is taken up with the Bank Rm - the RM is already replaced by a new RM Mr. Amaye Parab. A day before i had the talk with the RM Mr. Kuldeep Singh and he said he will come back to me on the following day, but on the following day Mr. Parab introduces himself to me as my new RM.. He takes a request in writing from me after listening all the above thing without providing me any SR No. After two reminders on the follow-up i get the reply that the bank will not refund the amount as the same was mentioned on the Application form signed by me while putting up the request. Can anyone help me in bringing the Bank to realise whose mistake it is and who is being penalised for the negligence of ICICIDirect Executives & Staff. Can some Government Body take legal and punitive steps against the ICICIDirect for causing inconvinience to its cusomers.
