Hi. My gas connection has been shifted from Rose gas agency, Adambakkam to Parthiban gas agency, Pallavaram. Like many others I was also surprised and shocked! Surprised because I wasn't personally happy with the services of rose gas agency and their rough behaviour towards their customers.. Shocked because the new agency was in Pallavaram!!!
Having received sms on this agency transfer, I tried to contact the customer care of IOCL to know if any steps need to be taken at my end to complete the transfer. (Since I have registered myself online with indane.co.in, I applied online 'Transfer certificate' and got an email confirmation to that effect!) None of the representatives in IOCL customer care understood what info I wanted!!! Finally I decided to contact Parthiban agency to know further steps.. After a whole day's trial to reach them over phone, one nice person attended the phone after office-hours!! (I meant after office-hours! Around 5.30 pm. During the day none of the staff picks up the call!!) He instructed me to come in person to the agency and get my new consumer number registered in gas book.
The next day I gathered all my flat members and we all went on a day's tour to this agency! Locating the place was so difficult but google maps helped me a bit.. Finally when we reached the agency, there was a long queue waiting in office! We were puzzled. One old gentleman in the queue asked me if we were from rose gas agency. When we said yes, he happily asked us to join the queue!
Since I knew my new consumer number through my online login with indane, I had written that in gas book. After half an hour my turn came and I showed the lady in counter my new consumer number written in gas book. She confirmed its correct and pasted a slip on how to get registered with Parthiban agency with the new consumer number. I successfully deactivated my old consumer number with rose gas agency by calling gas booking toll free number. But now I need to call the new agency and get registered.
I have been trying for the past 3 days to reach Parthiban agency over phone to get registered, but in vain!! Either nobody picks up or its always engaged.
I honestly feel that the new agency is not happy getting new consumers transferred from rose gas agency. So what? We are not happy too to have our distributor 14 kms away!!
Even when the cylinder was delivered by rose gas agency (which is hardly half a km from my house), I used to pay Rs.25 extra to the delivery man! Needless to say am living in ground floor!!
Now for a distributor situated 14 kms away, even if I succeed in getting registered (which itself is a nightmare now!), I am afraid we may end up paying not less Rs.100 per delivered cylinder, quoting distance as the reason. This haunts!!!
With all these mess, I now need to think if this is really worth it!!
IOCL guys, pls justify why we should stay with you????????????????????????????????????????

Im residing at Ullagaram and Suddenly they moved my gas agency from Rose to Parthiban Gas agency which is at Pallavaram and it is too far from my residence without my consent. Please take necessary action. My consumer ID is JE48480. I have also booked cylinder for which cash memo is received but cylinder yet to be distributed
