Ours is residents association (Apartment). We are maintaining our society account no:[protected], since 25 years with your begum-pet-hyderabad branch. We regularly operate our account, we deposit clearing cheques, deposit cash and issue cheques.in the process we have deposited clearing cheques in the first week of march 2018, cheque no:000016, on hdfc bank, rs.2500, returned un - realized, debited our societies account on 08.03.2018. On reconciliation of our account., we have approached the bank they have returned to us in 2nd week of january 2019, under acknowledgement, after 10th months of lapse. The validity of cheque is expired after 3 months of its date of issue. We could not receive the payment from the drawer of the cheque in question as he left our vaishali apartment (Since he is tenant). Thus our society is deprived and put to loss of rs.2500. This is total negligence and deficiency of service on the part of the hence the bank is liable. Please advice and address the issue as soon as possible. Please very your bank-branch for the records (We have noticed many returned clearing cheques in their possession).
