The mandatory inspection for residential gas installation is once in five years. However customers are being demanded to pay every year for inspection charges (Rs 200/- at present). A receipt is given for the same, however no inspection is carried out and the customer is told to sign at the bottom of the unfilled inspection sheet (visit report). My cons. no/ID - 68628/[protected]. The delivery man of 'Cooking Gas Agency' company demanded and collected Rs200/- on 2.12.19 from me as I was not aware of the procedure. Only one year ago on 25.12.18, Rs 177/- was collected as inspection charges.(Both receipts available with me)
I raised a complaint on this practice with DGM Ms.Yogarani Suresh of IOC (Tel No. [protected]) on 4th Dec'19. On 10th December, two IOC personnel came along with the manager Mr.Kamalakannan of "Cooking Gas Agency" to my house to gather the facts of the case and I had explained the problems to them in detail namely - Annual demand for inspection charges instead of once 5 years, charging without doing inspection, getting signature of customers in empty visit reports, inspection by incompetent personnel and who can't even read the visit report check list.
Today, the same cylinder delivery man from same above agency came to deliver a cylinder to another customer in my apartment, collected Rs 200/- towards inspection and got signature in the empty visit form (receipt for amount and empty signed visit form available with me). He also tried to collect the amount from another resident in my street, got signature in the visit form (available with me), but however the customer refused to pay the amount.
