[Resolved] Airtel 4G Connection # [protected] — Suspended service due to complaint ! | |||
I bought a 4g connection from Airtel # [protected] after the Airtel sales officer promised me a minimum speed of 15mbps, in July2012. Soon after purchasing and installation of the router, I realised the speed never went above 5-6 mbps. I registered a complaint # 45604183 dated 30.8.12. They sent their technical guys to check the speed onsite and realised my complaint is valid. They made promises after promises for increasing speed , all in vain. They even gave a discount of Rs 562/- in my Nov bill, thus acknowledging the speed is much lower than 4g. On my requesting for similar discount for earlier months, they refused since their "system" cannot pass such discounts. Meanwhile on a email of 30th Nov I wrote " Will some one at Airtel attend to my issue of lower speed, else I have no use of a 4G connection....my broadband is good enough !!" and on the same date Airtel wrote " We wish to inform you that we are in the process of installing a new cell-site in your area, which should come up within the next 02 months. This site will improve the network strength and considerably enable you to enjoy continued services. Kindly bear with us till such time.". Soon after I paid my discounted bill, they notified they have suspended my a/c and obviously there is no connection now. I wrote back to them since they are unable to provide a 4g speed they should take back the router and refund the cost...and their reply is a no. Airtel is now a global brand, and has very high expectations from its consumers. I myself have 5 mobile connections in my family and a landline with broadband connection and pay more than Rs10k per month. The least one expects is selling its consumers by making false promises thereby making a few thousand Rs. That goodwill and faith is now lost. I request the highest authorities at Airtel to take notice and improve their services, meaning speed so I can make use of the router for which I have already invested. Else, please take the router back and return its cost. BTW, Airtel sells its 4g connection but never ever commits on any document a guaranteed speed. Why has TRAI allowed such a loophole? Sandwip, you at least got 5Mbps speed. At my area, I never got more than 1Mbps, moreover average speed is 100kbps with Airtel 4G dongle. Before buying this 4G dongle, Airtel Team promised me they have adequate network coverage at my place and no need to worry further. I used this Airtel 4G dongle for one month and got it disconnected and during this one month I lodged around 8 complaints which yielded no resolution. Airtel Team confirmed me they don't have 3G or 4G coverage at my place. I asked Airtel Team to take back the 4G dongle and provide the refund as I was promised very good speed from Airtel but Airtel is not ready to take back the dongle. Not only that, Airtel is not also ready to waive this one month bill. Now friends be aware of Airtel before you commit to take Airtel 4G service.
