LG service technician visited on 17 Jul 16 and observed that the panel of tv has packed up and the repair cost would be approximately Rs 23000/. There after I visited the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) under MoD (Govt of India) Bangalore, through which I have purchased the tv. The area manager of CSD vide their letter No AFD-I/complaint/527 dated 18 Jul 16 has requested area manager of M/s LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd, Venkateshwara Complex Koramangala, Bangalore to do the needful on FOC(free of charge) as a special case. The letter has been personally handed over to Mr Tummala Kishore in the said office of LG by me. LG technician has asked on 19 Jul 16, to position the tv at their service center. After repair the repair team would inform about the repair charges.
In view of the above, I have following to submit
(a) Can a major part of tv, costing Rs 23000/ packs up after purchase of just two years from a reputed company. Generally it should not be so. If at all it happens, why company disown its responsibility and unable to repair on FOC.
(b) LG should extend the warranty of major components of tv from 01 year to atleast 05 years. So that customers faith be remain intact with the company. Rs 23000/ is too heavy amount for repair of tv (original tv cost RS 40000/) for a common man.
(c) LG company should also consider the recommendation of CSD.
