Company: Livspace
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Nature of Complaint: Refund denied, misleading sales/offers, poor communication, disputed cancellation

I am sharing my experience with Livspace to seek a fair resolution and to warn other customers before they make any payment.

I approached Livspace for the interior work of my home. During the initial discussion, I was offered a 30% discount through an “on-table offer” if I paid ₹25, 000 immediately. Based on this offer and my intention to proceed with the project, I made the payment.

Subsequently, I paid:

₹25, 000 – initial “on-table offer”
₹15, 000 – measurement/site visit
₹10, 000 – during the design/project discussion

Total amount paid: ₹50, 000

At a very early stage, Livspace also offered an additional “month-end discount” and asked me to submit a ₹2 lakh post-dated cheque to avail that additional discount. I was told that the cheque would be presented only after informing me.

At this stage, I became uncomfortable with proceeding and decided to discontinue the project.

The important fact is that no actual interior work was carried out at my property. The project was still at the discussion/design stage.

There was only one site visit for measurement. After the ₹10, 000 payment, I attended only one discussion session of approximately 30 minutes and communicated that I did not wish to continue.

I subsequently met Mr. Arya Bopche, Manager, and clearly communicated my decision to discontinue the project.

After that, I contacted Livspace multiple times through WhatsApp regarding cancellation and refund, but did not receive a response until recently.

Livspace has now refused my refund and stated that the project cannot be cancelled and that the amount paid is non-refundable under their policy.

I was also told that their team had remained in “continuous communication” with me and had conducted “multiple site visits.” This does not match what actually happened. There was only one measurement visit, and no physical interior execution took place.

I understand that a company may have cancellation terms. However, I believe the circumstances of each case should be considered fairly. In my case, the project was discontinued at a very early stage, no physical interior work was executed, and I am being asked to forfeit the entire ₹50, 000.

I am requesting Livspace to:

Cancel the project.
Provide a fair refund of the ₹50, 000 paid.
If Livspace believes any amount is legitimately non-refundable, provide a clear itemised breakup of the actual services provided and the contractual basis for retaining each amount.

I am filing this complaint not only to seek resolution but also to make prospective customers aware of my experience. Customers should be given sufficient opportunity to understand cancellation and refund implications before being encouraged to make immediate payments through “on-table” or “month-end” offers.

I request Livspace to review this matter objectively and resolve the refund dispute fairly.
