I hired Livspace for my interiors on Dec 17th while handing over the booking amount (25000/- and 10000/- = 35k in total). The initial scope of work was the bedroom wardrooms, modular kitchen, washing utility area, and a bar unit for my drawing room.
They did not visit the site for the actual measurements in the next 10 days. Once they visited, the estimates shot up by 30-40 % quoting that the custom modular kitchen is going to cost me 30% higher than before. The bar unit they designed was nowhere close to my expectations so I thought to remove the bar unit for 2 reasons - 1) the design was not good, and 2) I had to somehow reduce the scope to meet the shot-up quotation.
When I asked them to cancel, they were not refunding the booking amount saying that it is only allowed for the first 48 hours. How am I supposed to know that the price is shooting up in the first 48 hours when they are measuring it on the 10th day? This is an absurd and unfair practice. They are looting our hard-earned money
