this is my bad experience with them. I raised a complain with them on sep 28. No clue what happened till now. I ended up paying extra 19K INR. Here is the complete story. I am holding personel loan on my kotak credit card. When i apply for the loan, i was promised that i will not have any foreclose charges for my personel loan after first 3 months of my emi. I repeat I was repeatedly told by the telephonic executive lady that i will not have any foreclosure charges when i foreclose my personal loan. That is the only reason i applied for the loan in kotak bank even though kotak interest rate and processing fee is higher than the other competetor banks. But when i requested for foreclosure, it is not the same. I was put 4% foreclosure charges. Is this really the ethical practice. I am really feeling ashamed that i had such of longer time relationship with kotak. I also have similar and terrible experience with kotak bank. I was appraised at the time of loan that the Preclosure charges are 2% but now they are saying its 5%, over and above 30 days intimation, 7 days before EMI Due date...what is all this bull?

When whole world is accepting the foreclosure on same day and at much much lower prepayment, why are you guys still sleeping?

I have sent many mails but there was no response. I am planning to proceed legally for this torture. No proper response from branch nor call center, just pushing blame on one another.

At the time of taking loan, they are at my back and now they are not caring selfish to earn interest from postponement.

Hi Lokesh, How much was the interest rate and moreover can you share the contact number of the lady . Because i have applied for a loan with kotak!
Even I have a personal loan with them and the problem is that they had intially collected cheques from me for EMI. They have cheque bouncing charges in my statement. The same is not reflecting in my bank statement. There is no cheque bouncing charges in my account. Every month i will get a message my emi is overdue. But i have done ECS with my bank and i see sufficient balance is maintained in my bank for EMI clearance. They have used my residential address and sending unrelated letters to me.

Below issues I faced from the Kotak Bank from Day one.(one of the most unprofessional bank never seen before)

After applying loan thru BankBazaar( they referred the Kotak Bank), Mr. Ramesh collected the document from me. after couple of day's he came again to loan agreement and ECS form signature and collecting the cheque, while collecting the cheque he collected Rs.1000 from me(I was transitioned many banks for loan from past 15 years. but this is the first time guy collected money) while collecting the cheque he said will be given back at the end once your loan is closed.( as per my past experience with other banks, cheque will be given back to the customer after closing the loan)

Myself was not interested to go with Kotak bank for loan, because t bad and unprofessional experience with others and negative internet reviews, but BankBazaar insisted to me take loan from Kotak bank, and they offered me also some voucher, but still not received, that is different story ?.

In-between I got 2 to 4 calls from BankBazaar and Kotak asking some details.

And My strange experience is after2 or 3 day's one lady called from Kotak and told me that your documents were missing. Then I was so worried and told to cancel the loan, I don't need any loan from unprofessional Kotak Bank.

after few days or week one fine day surprisingly loan amount was credited to my account, then bank bazaar called after a day or 2.. and I explained all these things to them, still no reply from them.

First EMI was 10th sept 2015, it supposed to be ECS as per Bank Norms( Kotak guy also mentioning it is thru ECS while signing the agreement) but they submitted my cheque and payment was not cleared(because I had given stop payment to those cheque, because I told them to cancel the loan initially), after that Santhosh from Recovery called me ([protected]) for payment, I told him why ECS was not cleared, he said some technical issue ECS was not cleared, this month you pay the cash, next month onwards EMI will go thru ECS, and I said this month is ok, next month onwards I will not pay cash, it should go thru ECS.

Again Oct-15 was the joke, they deducted the Rs.1 thru ECS(attached the screen shot) and again the Guy called from 91-[protected] no.(don't remember his name, his no.is ([protected]) asking the EMI payment, myself told why should I pay it should go thru ECS, and why only Rs.1 deducted from my account, he explained this is for checking, next month onwards will go thru ECS, but Again Nov-15 also deducted Rs.1 thru ECS(attached Screen shot), so OCT-15 EMI I transferred to Account No: SPLN59637250.( they messaged this account no. to me)

usually banks will send the loan agreement copy to the customer thru post, but in this case Kotak Bank Didn’t sent any single document to me, there is no clue what is the loan amount and other charges and EMI.

after so much of fighting thru phone kotak bank couriered one document and I shocked after opening, because first 2 pages of the document signature is not mine, they did forgery ( shame on the Kotak Bank), Forgery is kind of criminal offence.

I have recently taken Personal Loan from Kotak Bank.

I am facing so many problems since the day I have taken because of the kotak employees irresponsibility.

The issue is

I have asked for 800000/- loan amount @12.45 % interest for 36 months tenure.
Kotak sales person has come to my residence to get the Agreement signatures from us.

I have clearly mentioned that I need 8lac for 36 months.
Sales executive has got 10lac agreement and he said we will adjust this once you sign.
And also he said, Until unless I confirm through my official email ID, the loan amount will not get disbursed.
So, I can mention how much ever I want in the mail.

I have agreed for that and I have sent a mail mentioning all the details.

Later the Loan money got credited to my account after my confirmation through mail.
But 10 lakh( @ around 13.25 % interest rate for 60 months) got credited which I have not opted for .

I have tried writing number of mails and contacting Customer Care and others from your staff.

Unfortunately I didn't get any reply from any of them.

I have decided to visit kotak branches (info got from Customer Care)
I have visited Indiranagar branch of kotak, where i have got to know that i have to visit Banishankari Branch.

The next day I have Visited Banishankari branch, where i have met a guy named Swapan . He was handling this issue.

When I have asked him about this issue,
I have not got any information from him.
Moreover, he was not at all behaving properly.
Infront of all the employees, he started fighting with me.
He doesn't know how to behave with a woman.

Later I have got Sriram Kannan contact and called him and asked him to help me out in this.
Again I dint get any reply from him.


Without even any confirmation on these issues, they have deducted EMI installment for this month.

This is not at all fair.First they have to resolve the issue and then they have to deduct the money.

Moreover I have raised a request to cancel this loan .I didn't get any reply for this too.

Today I have called sriram again & I have explained my problem.
He said he will tell to a guy named Raghu to look in to this.

I have called Raghu and explained the issue from start to end to him today morning. He said he will get back to me but he didn't.
Again I have called him around 5 o'clock today and asked Raghu for the status.
He said that kotak will not do anything and I have to bear this loan amount

Today I have visited again Mission Road branch on the same issue.

I have been tortured by kotak mentally and physically.

5% closure charges are applicable to close this loan, which is a huge money to me.

Kindly understand and get me out of this situation asap. PFB the mail chain for your reference.

What is the mistake I have done is believing Kotak Bank?

I want to cancel the loan with zero cancellation charges asap.
I had applied for top up loan with kotak for 650000 and the amount that was disbursed in my account was 384759 on 7th September 2016. My previous loan amount was 207267, 2% of service tax and some stamp duty too the difference is 57974. I asked and mailed to all concerned person like my agent Devendra, ritika lochani who sits at midc Andheri and to service desk but nothing is stll done regarding my closure of this loan. Each one is just throwing me like a ball from one department to another today is the 25th of September. Can anyone from kotak bank help or are there all FRAUDS sitting to suck the common persons blood and hard earned money
i too faced the similar issue, I initially informed from kotak team that there are no pre closing charges for my loan after 1 year but now when i am ready to foreclose the loan, kotak team is saying that 5% charges i need to pay.This is really really bad
I have foreclosed my pl no.spln[protected] in the last month sept 17 and i have also got Foreclosure letter at home
But i have paid extra 2.5 thousand extra. They given assurance to me that you will get money next month but until now, there is no money got credited.
Customer care of kotak is not responding. Whenever i contact customer care, infact executive does not come on call. There is no option to dial nunber to speak with executive.
I would give worst worst rating for your bank and definately ask my all staff not to transact with kotak bank in future.
Its a third class bank. Customer Service is like lowest lowest level of response.
Let me know if you have any courtesy to call back or provide right contact no. Who will refund excess amount which i paid to you last month

One of the worst banks when it comes to handling loan customers. Exorbitant foreclosure charges, horrible attitude towards customers and slimy oractices such as website speed being throttled for 10.10.1.78 when you try to raise complaint. I strongly recommens to stat away from Kotak for any loan.
Worst Bank... No pre-closure of personal loan and lock period is 12 months... if it is the restriction why the hell the person in call confirmed that We can pre-close it after 6 months.. Liars.. They should be ashamed of it.

Same problem here, i took personal loan rate of 16.719, i want to pre payment. but, CC told should be done after 12 months!!

Not sure why it takes 15 working days to get fore closure letter to pre-close the existing PL. Also pre-closure charges is 5%... Which is so painful to accept & on top of that there are other useless charges been applied.

Initially, I had a good experience in getting a PL but when we are closing it in due course, finding it very difficult to pay those inappropriate charges which was never transparent to customers...

This is not the best way to sustain customer relationship. It should be very customer friendly even when we are pre-closing. Having heard that I need to pay 25 to 30 k extra to pre-close. I will not opt for any loans again & feeling so awkward & uncomfortable...

My CRN #[protected]. Plz Kotak, see what u can do to waive off those additional charges or reduce pre-closing %.
I would be more than glad! As my pre-closing process is in WIP...
Guys please avoid Kotak for any loan. Their foreclosure process is painfully pathetic and also plenty of extra and hidden charges which are not mentioned in the agreement.

These guys are fleecing the customers. I am planning not only foreclose my loan but also close my salary account with Kotak.

We should not give any business to these cheats
