Sub: Manufacturing defect of my new MARUTI SWIFT CAR complaint regarding:-
Ref: Vehicle Registration No: KL 41 J 7195. Chassis No. MA3FHEBiso080072ME,
Engine No. D13A0552295.Purchased on 25.03.2015
I purchased the above said vehicle from Popular Vehicles and Services Ltd Cochin, Mamangalam, Ernakulam. I had used the vehicle only to drive about 800 KM. Last week when I was driving the vehicle through the road in a normal speed, an unusual sound came and suddenly I stopped the vehicle and checked. But I couldn’t find what the reason was. Immediately I informed the matter to Popular service personnel through one of my friend over phone. Thereafter two persons came on the spot and found that the front left hand side axle was broken. As per their request I allowed them to take the vehicle to popular work shop at Elamakkara. They took the vehicle to the workshop and repaired. I paid Rs. 2750/- as towing charge, on the assurance that the amount will be refunded at the time of delivery and settlement of warrantee approval from Maruti. Now Popular Services are asking me to pay the bill of Rs. 7000/-and above. They are not ready to deliver the vehicle without paying the charge by me saying that the company is not approving the claim as it is not a manufacturing defect and not under the warrantee cover. The complaint is with regard to one of the defective part of the vehicle which definitely a manufacturing defect. I think I do not have to pay for repairs as the vehicle is still under your warrantee’s cover. The vehicle is in the workshop since 10.06.2015. I am a NRI and on leave for one month only. If the vehicle is kept in the work shop for indefinitely I will be put to irreparable injury and hardships. I have complaints regarding inordinate delay in settling the warrantee. It is an unfair trade practice and deficiency of service on your part. Therefore I hereby request you to do needful to get my vehicle delivered immediately with a refund of Rs. 2750/- which I already paid as the towing charge.
