Dear Niva Bupa Team,
I am writing to express my serious concern and disappointment regarding the recent automatic renewal of my health insurance policy, scheduled for renewal on 28th October. Despite the fact that I did not activate auto-debit instructions, the premium amount was debited from my credit card without any prior intimation, consent, or communication from your end.
This action not only violates the principles of transparent customer consent but also reflects a disturbing lack of customer-centric practices. I had 10 days remaining before the actual renewal date, during which I had planned to add an additional member (my wife) to the policy. However, this unauthorized auto-renewal has now disrupted that process and created unnecessary complications.
Furthermore, I had raised a query earlier regarding a sudden hike in premium, but it has remained unresolved, with no follow-up or explanation provided. Such unresponsive behavior adds to the growing concern that Niva Bupa is functioning in a monopolistic and high-handed manner, without due regard to customer engagement or transparency.
I demand the following actions be taken on priority:
1. Immediate reversal or hold on the renewed policy, as the payment was made without consent.
2. Provision to add my wife as a member before proceeding with the renewal.
3. A clear explanation for the auto-debit, including where and when this was authorized (if at all).
4. A response to my earlier escalation regarding the unjustified premium increase.
I trust that this matter will be treated with urgency and seriousness. If a satisfactory resolution is not provided at the earliest, I will be compelled to escalate this further to IRDAI and consumer grievance forums.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Warm regards,
ABHISHEK TIWARI
