I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against the McDonald’s franchise located at Elpro City Mall, MG Road, Chinchwad Gaon, Pune, for unfair trade practices and deficiency in service.
On 8th July 2025, At 2:14 pm I visited the said outlet and placed an order consisting of two burgers and two iced teas, amounting to ₹560/- (Rupees Five Hundred Sixty Only). I made the payment through UPI (online transaction). However, due to an alleged technical glitch in their billing or payment system, I was asked by the staff to make the payment again in cash.
Despite having paid the bill twice, I was assured by the staff that the extra amount would be refunded within 24 hours. Unfortunately, even after the passage of over three weeks, no refund has been processed. I made several attempts to contact the outlet through calls and messages, but received no response. When they finally responded after persistent follow-up, the staff behaved rudely, made me speak to multiple people, and failed to provide any resolution.
This conduct is not only unprofessional and disrespectful but also amounts to unfair trade practice and deficiency in service under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The deliberate withholding of my legitimate refund has caused me mental harassment and financial inconvenience.
I, therefore, demand immediate refund of ₹560/- along with a written apology for the inconvenience caused. Kindly treat this matter as urgent. Was this information helpful? |
