Scam in the name of treatment

Today I visited Miot International Chennai. I asked for Emergency Consultation and they took me to emergency room and made a consultation.
While my attender was not allowed inside and attender was treated very rude manner by your hospital staff.

Later a person for PRO team came to me and asked me to pay INR 50, 000 explaining the knee injury diagnose process. They asked me to pay without even a doctor consultation....

My mother aged 60 has been submitted for inflammation issues in backside near buttocks, but the way she was treated and pathetic, 2 days without any treatment she was in resulting. In cost of 80000 unnecessary. Not using cashless service and asking us to pay, very bad, for taking any critical decision taking 1 day time, what sort of service is this, there is no timeliness there but money extracted heavily

    Patient name : Akilaa MAge : 47 yearsMR No : 688438Room No : T100 (ICU)
I am Bharath S/O patient Akilaa. She was admitted in the MIOT for surgery on 10th Feb 2022 (thursday). She has been in the ICU for the past one week. There are some issues with service offered to the patient.
    1. Food was not offered on time. Today lunch was offered at 2.30pm. The dinner offered was very cold.2. Due to centralized AC in the ICU ward the patient was feeling cold and shivering. The blankets were not offered properly. When asked about this the response given was blankets were sent to the laundry room. The reason is not acceptable in such a well established hospital.
Please make sure that the above issues must be rectified.

Today is the discharge of our patient and the discharge summary and details were forwarded to the Bill desk at 1435 hrs and bill section has prepared bills and sent to insurance desk approx 1610 hours, insurance desk has also immediately taken it to the insurance office for approval of bills, insurance office raised some queries and they were addressed by insurance desk around 1745 hrs. Still we are waiting for insurance clearance and the time is 6.50 pm due to the delay at the front desk in preparation of discharge summary and forwarding to the bill desk. It is very disappointing with the way the insurance clearance process is handled at the hospital which causes inconvenience for both the patient as well as the insurance company. Would be glad if this is taken care for everyone's comfort.

        Hi,

I have concern about my kids. Hospital staffs are not allowing my kids to even enter into lobby area on my date of appointment with doctor (Nephrology dept).
I came from another state, and I don't have any relatives here in Chennai to keep my kids at home.
What's the problem to allow inside if we follow all the Covid protocols?
Kindly let me know the process for patients coming from another states or long distances.
We cannot keep our kids standing alone outside the gate. This is very rude and inhuman behavior and attitude. There must be some guidelines and process to streamline this.

        Thanks
MIOT Hospitals customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
This behaviour is inhuman. How can someone leave the kids alone in a house where no one is there to take care off the kids. Neither a patient could go alone for the treatment. The hospital administration should be considerate on cases like this on humanitarian ground. Who will take responsibilities of kids left alone in house or patient came alone in hospital? So pathetic and inhuman. The hospital administration should take action against it.

          Dear Sir/Madam,

I, Jeyanthi Sreedhar, would like to complain about non-receipt of two baggages including laptop which my husband Mr. S. Sreedhar (late) possessed during his admission in Room No. 756 in 7th floor.

I herein below give the particulars and would like to once again reiterate that inspite of continuous followup on all days, nothing is happening at your end to locate the items which were in the hospital:

My husband Mr. S. Sreedhar was admitted in your hospital on 12.5.2021, as he was Covid positive, MR. No. 655231 and was given Room. No. M 17 / 756. Smt. Sharmila and Smt. Indhumathi were the PROs who were in touch with me. Later he was shifted to 8th floor on 19.5.2021 and Smt. Vidhya was the PRO who contacted me. From there he was shifted to MICU and Smt. Janaki was the PRO there. Finally my husband passed away on 27.5.2021 morning at 7.10am in your hospital.

As my husband was covid positive, none were allowed to be with him due to hospital protocols and PROs were only handling him. I was terribly shocked when one PRO called me from Smt. Sharmila's mobile on 29.5.2021 morning and asked me about the details & dates on which my husband was moved from ward to ward which is really shameful on the part of the hospital who deals with patients.

On 27.5.2021, we were constantly contacting Smt. Sharmila PRO & Smt. Janaki PRO and no one could locate the two baggages i.e.one a big travel bag with his dresses which is light blue and pink in colour and another a medium size vanity bag with his personal laptop which he was using while in hospital.

It is very much disheartening that the hospital staff who were moving my husband from ward to ward never minded to transfer the patient's belongings which they are bound to do. We were made to run from pillar to post on the date of death of my husband to locate the bags and none of your staff helped us and did nothing to help the people in despair.

My husband's purse with cards & his two finger rings were only handed over to us.

As already 4 days have elapsed since the death of my husband and there is no communication from your side regarding the availability of bags alongwith laptop, I would like to inform you that no further delay from your side will be tolerated by me and I seek an immediate within 24hrs redressal of my complaint, failing which I will be forced to take further course of action.

          Awaiting your immediate reply.

My father MR#642250 was admitted in MIOT for covid treatment. He was charged 55k for PPE kit and insurance company approved only 15k and I had to bear remaining 40k.cost of PPE kit used by ward members are shared by 10 patients . 55k per patient is way tooo much .. I need the over charged amount to be refunded.. I would advise everyone not to go to Miot for covid treatment with insurance. They overcharge.my father was admitted on 11th night at 11.00 pm and discharged on 18th morning at around 10 pm. For this duration, they charge 55k. And insurance doens't approve this over charged amount .miot hospital, please stop overcharging insurance holders. Overcharged amout falls on patients head and not everyone can afford to pay bills.

My father was admitted in Cardiac ICU. The Nurse working there treating very badly. any request you ask from them they show the displeasure and not showing any respect or help.
for ex: help like water or for going urine.

They always argue as if you should not come there again.

My father is 75+ now he is telling, he don't want to go there even in worst case.

MIOT Management, please instruct or give guideliness to the nurse how to treat the patients.
The Junior doctors who give the discharge details are talking to us are impatient.

I'm an attender for a cancer patient at C3 303 room for urology treatment. Why do I get only two bottles of drinking water per day ? Doctor has advised the patient to take three litres of water per day .

We pay huge room rents, still dont get a drinking water for free ?? How sick is that !

But they are not sharing the digital X-ray images if not asked even after making the payment for the tests. Never go to this hospital for covid treatment, they are minting money and putting 6 patients in a single room. Worst thing the beds provided are attender beds to a patient. Pathetic service.
I'm pretty disappointed and there should be some kind of professionalism in looting hard earned money through pandemic

                              Hello,
I have taken appointment o[censored]ltrasound for my wife on monday[protected].. They called us on wednesday 10 am.. Now when we reached the ward at 10 am they told the patient to wait and asked us to wait outside.. Then even after 2 hours, our no has not come but other patients who came after us were allowed to go inside.. This is very disappointing thing from a institute like miot.. Moreover nurses present there were behaving with us very rudely.. They are shouting on us to go outside.. Idont know how these nurses are being working in this hospital but my sincere advise is to give them communication classes also.. The experience which i had at miot was very disappointing

On 14-03-20, sunday mr. B. Mohanraj, (Patient's name), my brother - in-law was affected by very high fever, due to urinary infection. As the doctor already diagnosed him has not prescribed any medicine for fever, his body temperature had shoot up at 2.30am. As the temperature was unbearable he felt shivering and he himself told us to take him to the hospital. But while moving for hospital he defied to get into the car and he was inarticulate. However we have managed and pushed him inside the car and rushed to the nearby miot hospital emergency care. Age of the patient and his wife is 69 and 65 respectively. She has explained the history of the case to the duty doctor.in view of her age and consternation she was unable to answer his questions properly. The duty doctor started shouting at her telling that he is the doctor there. Moreover, after the initiation of treatment the doctor came to us and said he needs to be in observation for not less than two days in icu and his brain seems to have been infected and requires mri and further treatment. The doctor had virtually frightened the aged attender instead of consoling her. Just because of his petrifying opinion we have shifted him at once to ramachandra hospital. The doctor immediately attended him has confirmed his mental healthiness. However after seeing the discharge summery of miot only he has insisted brain scanning. Finally he was treated for urinary infection and discharged on wednesday. He was affected by high fever due to urinary infection and the consequent seizure. Your doctor is unable to diagnose this and offered petrifying opinion.in view of his deceitful opinion, they have insisted mri scanning and finally the claim for mri was disallowed by the insurer. Please train your emergency doctors (Machine dependent) for ethical behavior and proper diagnosis. My neighbors who accompanied us have noted all these and i am sure no one will think of miot for emergency. R. Rajendra prasad. F. I. E., c. Engr. '
