There is a massive scam using qr code on olx platform. The numbers are being shared to third party unauthorized users to call directly and scam sellers. I have been victim of 20000.00 fraud.
I had posted ad to sell my furniture. There were two buyers interested and had requested my contact number for discussion. However i got a call from unknown number immediately after posting the ad and offered to buy. The person spoke convincingly and requested for details to transfer the amount. He used his qr code to show that money can be received by using a small transaction. When i entered a big amount of 20000.00 he immediately said that transaction failed and to retry again. By this time i got suspicious as the amount got deducted and realized i have been a victim of qr code scam.
Only after raising complaint multiple times olx flagged the user are suspicious. Even after that i got other similar calls. Also they are not taking any responsibility on data privacy and misuse of personal data on their platform.
The numbers - [protected] (Ashok kumar) and paytm number [protected] are still active. These people are scamming all the sellers by using qr code and means to transfer money to their account.

Olx is not taking responsibility for any of these actions as they say they provide only a platform and cannot do much with security and privacy.

I wanted to sell my table to olx so this person named (Ashok kumar) contacted me. Then he told that he will give 5000 in exchange of my table . So he sent me a link on whatsapp for google pay. When i opened the link there was only option for me to pay so i called him and told that I don’t have an receive option . He told that pay 5000 to him and then he will send it back. So i did and he then didn’t give me the money back instead sent me another link and told pls send 5000 this time mistake won’t happen . So i trusted and did but then to he didn’t gave the money back so i asked him his address s o that i can go there and do the transaction directly but he was not ready to tell address instead he told me to try last time to send him money and he will give all 15k back. But as i did last pay he stopped receiving my calls and didn’t called me back and so he stole 15k from me today.
I think this bloody ashok kumar should be caught and jailed for his sins. And my request to all people if ever this person approaches you then pls don’t get trapped.
And i request olx to take strict action on him
