[Resolved]  Panasonic — Water Purifier Model: TK-CS70

We bought this machine on 11th April, 2014. From the very first month, it started giving problems. After multiple service visits when the machine was still not functioning properly, we started documenting by emails. The first email was sent on 10 Oct., 2014. Even after changing the valve, water dripping problem was not solved. The Helpline service is also extremely poor. One has to make call to register a complaint. Every time they ask details about the product, where/when purchased, address where installed etc. as if such calls are discouraged. After registering we had to made several followup calls to make sure a serviceman actually showed up. After service, upon unsatisfactory work which was noted on the jobcard, nobody bothered to follow up. Next complaint was registered few days before warranty expired. Again the valve was replaced but did not solve the problem of continuous water leakage from the machine. After many calls, and more emails, now they are saying they will yet replace the valve again but since it is out of warranty, it will be chargeable. The company sales mgr. Sanish acknowledged that the company knew about water leakage problem and was making internal changes to suit Indian conditions. So their game plan has been to sell a defective machine, delay proper servicing or replacement, and then charge customers for fixing a problem with no warranty that it'll be finally fixed. More photos available showing water collected in a bucket below machine. Since the company cannot offer a permanent solution for their defective machine, we want full refund of Rs. 15, 000/-. (original invoice is available with us). Plus we feel the machine may have dispensed bad quality water affecting our health. Plus we want the company to compensate for all the troubles we put up with for over one year. Thank you for help. The company has taken away the old machine, and installed a newer model CS80 since the old model is no longer available. The new machine has been working satisfactorily for about two weeks now. They have extended the warranty to three extra months for the new installation. We still feel that instead of forcing us to accept another model (even if it is purportedly a higher more expensive model), the company should have refunded our money and should not have made us suffer through months of non-working machine. Obviously given their current standards, we are not sure about the bonafides of the new model either. Unfortunately, this forum has no teeth in getting the problem resolved. But we are writing here if only to alert other consumers about the demerits of this product, and the poor service standards from a Japanese mega conglomerate Panasonic.
Panasonic India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.

After changing the valve for the third time, the machine is still dripping water continuously. We have to empty all water from the tank and turn the power off so that it doesn't get filled up automatically. Now every time we want filtered water, we have to turn the power on, wait for a while to get it filled up and start emptying filtered water till the tank is empty, and then turn the power off for reasons mentioned above. This is hardly a solution to our problems. Obviously the machine is not working as advertised. Panasonic has used us as guinea pigs to their imported machine. Even their so called Indianized solutions are not working. The technology is defective. We want full compensation, plus interest costs, plus damages as other machines have now become costlier that we could have purchased at a better price some 15 months ago! Kindly help us get proper compensation. My address and contact details mentioned before. Thank you.

Unfortunately I did not review this thread before I opted for the same hopeless model thru Jul2015. Since the day of installation it has stopped working every 15-20 days and the so called techies have suggested a replacement of Membrane thrice and cleaned once to my satisfaction and departed pretending there is no issue, however from my last complaint recently is just pushed back and when I demanded a replacement citing warranty these folks are now asking me to upgrade by paying extra for the new model TK CS80. I want a full refund plus the charges incurred due to the disruption as I had to purchase water outside in bottled supplies which quite looks better than the choice I opted for since I am not even sure the water I consumed from this piece of junk all this while was even pure??!?!

I need to get a full refund asap; let me know if you can help

I would tend to give a ZERO rating to this product which cannot even meet the basic standards
If the product is still under warranty, they are bound to repair or replace it without charge. To conclude my story, they changed the valve six times but it kept leaking. The last visit was done by three people including sr. engineer who finally agreed that the machine was beyond repair. Since they would not agree to refund the money, we agreed to a free replacement upgrade to CS80 model after putting up with over 20 months of this nonsense. It's been a couple of weeks now but it seems to be working fine SO FAR. The amount of emails, phone calls, complaint registrations etc. we went through was horrible. It took twitter messages and calls to our pune area head, all india head in delhi etc. before they conceded to service the blasted thing. The company is so uncoordinated that one dept. does not know what the other one is doing. And the local service centers are mostly full of incompetent people with frequent change in staff. We wish you luck in getting your machine replaced.

Android update for p81 model

Before I bought this product, news said that panasonic promised kitkat update will be available for p81. But did not mentioned any time period. Want to know can we get update for p81.
