Paytm Mobile Solutions — Automatic Bill Payment Enabled without My Consent

My neighbor Hariom Pal came to me and asked me to do their electricity bill payment using Paytm. They are neighbors cum relatives so I couldn't deny their request.

I made the payment for their electricity bill which was 197 INR /-

This month they got the electricity bill worth rupees 4, 699/- INR which was an insane amount of money from their previous bill. I told them that their bill is 4, 699/- for this month and they said, no we won't pay that bill, we will ask Electricity Department to forgive the bill because we can't afford this much amount for the electricity bill only.

The bill date came and I see that the bill amount has already been dedicated from my Bank Account because the AUTOMATIC BILL PAYMENT GOT ENABLED AUTOMATICALLY on my PayTM account when I did their previous bill payment which I NEVER ENABLED! It was pre-checked/auto-checked/auto-filled from the PayTM side, which I couldn't see at that time.

I raised a request to PayTM that How can I cancel this scheduled transaction but till then my payment was deducted. In one of their steps, they asked me to enter the UPI pin to cancel the transaction BUT UPI PIN IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE THE TRANSACTIONS NOT FOR CANCELLING THE TRANSACTIONS. Payment GOT deducted automatically.

Paytm did that previously as well (scheduled the transaction of 5K without my consent) but I don't know why it got declined each time and I wasn't aware of all this. This time payment got deducted and I saw that PayTM also tried earlier to do the same thing but thanks to my bank they denied all the previous payment requests beforehand.

My neighbor cum relatives are fighting with me now, why did I make this transaction that we were supposed not to pay?

I need a REFUND of this amount.

I am a Software Professional by Profession and I understand this very how it all works. I request PayTM to REFUND the payment ASAP so I could ask my neighbor to stop fighting. I will really appreciate and continue using this App for all my payment transactions. Otherwise, it is really harassing for me to get abused for a mistake that I never made!
