Phoenix ARC PVT LTD — Credit Card Collection - threatening over phone

I have availed Credit Card from the then ABN Amro Bank, and the said account was closed and additional interest waived off by the said bank. Now some persons allegedly claiming that they are the authorised representative of Phoenix ARC a private limited company claiming that the defaulters accounts were transferred to them for collection. They have threatened me over phone with dire consequences. How can they threaten me even though my account was closed and the remaining interest amounts were written off by the principal bank, which is against law and natural justice. Foreign banks, voluntarily issued credit card to our nationals and threatened us using goondas.
