[Resolved] Quikr — Scam - possible attempt of online fraud in name of mrs manpreet kaur arora | |||
This is to highlight the possible attempt of online fraud and confirm that i have already submitted the form in below link but did not receive any acknowledgement. http://cybercrimecomplaints.com Details of fraud and attachments; I had put an advertisement on quikr to sell my sofa set to which i received an email from showing interest in buying it from me. She says she is in uk for a month and has sent a package with airway bill of lufthansa cargo with awb# [protected]. As per her the package contains icici khalsa college branch amritsar cheque#044637 of account#[protected] of rs 18, 500/- out of this rs 10, 000/- is an advance payment for the sofa sale deal and remaining rs 8, 500/- which she wants me to pay in cash for the custom clearance duty in india airport. However, i felt this is fraud when she mentioned on her email that i have to pay inr 8500/- to lufthansa cargo department to clear the package. I have received call on 15feb 2017 morning at 10:07am from mobile number [protected] which seems to show ashish negi name in true caller, however the person with african accent claims that he is calling from new delhi international airport and shared bank account details for me to make online payment to clear package. He shared the account details as below; A/c name: lufthansa airline service. A/c no:[protected]. Ifscode: rbin00061872. Reserve bank of india. Amount to pay: 8500 rupees I did not made any payment, and think this is an online fraud. Hence am reporting for you to take appropriate proactive action to put these fraudsters behind bars. The Airline will arrive in India tomorrow morning by 8:45AM, while they will call you for the delivery of the package to your door once the airline arrive.
Please bear with me that the affiliated flight, Lufthansa Airline has no available flight from London (UK) to your own city, so the flight that is bringing the package will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Once the package is clear from New Delhi custom it will be deliver to you in your City through Airline delivery Agent, So you have to make sure you are available at home to received the package once you got a call from the delivery local Agent because you have to sign before they release the package to you.
The total amount on the cheque is 38, 500 Rupees. 30, 000 Rupees for the Sofa and the rest 8, 500 Rupees will be transfer to the Airline delivery Agent. because the Airline official have charges 70 Pounds extra which is 8, 500 Rupees. I was told this amount will be paid at India Airport once they arrive by tomorrow morning being Securities Transaction Tax (STT) so they can register the package since is first class shipping send from abroad before they can come to deliver the package at your door step. But still the Airline is not 100% sure if they will request or not since is just an envelop but in case they request, that is why I have added the 8, 500 Rupees extra on the cheque so you can transfer to the Airline delivery agent tomorrow for the clearance and registration of the package from the custom at Delhi to avoid any forms of delay. Once the amount is credited into your account then you can deduct the amount you've transfer for the custom fee. One more thing, i will want you to please get back to me with the best time the you want the pick up to be done after you received the amount credited into your account.
Once you received the package by tomorrow, please make sure you deposit to your account as earlier as possible so the money can be credited into your account before the pick up date by the FedEx. I am very happy the way we've communicated, I am okay with you and i want you to know that i feel much comfortable paying ahead for the Sofa now because i have discuss with the FedEx Courier company and they are ready to handle the pick up from your end after the payment of the Sofa have been made directly to you because i have explain to them that I'm not presently in India and i want them to deliver the Sofa to my house even without my present. So they have agreed with all my proposal and they will come for the pick up once we've finally finalize the deal with each other.
I was told once the deal is finalize I should go ahead and send the address and the time of pick up and THE BEST time to reach you on phone.
Regarding the payment for the Sofa. I will prefer the mode of payment through my (HDFC BANK) Cheque because i always submit each copy of my cheque transaction to my account officer for future reference since this is my company cheque. Once i got your information i will ensure the cheque gets to you in India within 2-3days through fast track Courier. Your full name as it will appear on the payment, your work place address to ensure delivery in your hands through regular mails or a courier service, your phone number on the package to avoid package missing in transit. Me too had similar issues. It was simple to know their tricks. Kindly request buyers not to do any unofficial transactions. I also have made a complaint with costumer care and asked them to remove such adds. I don't think any action has been taken yet. These scammers will cheat some innocent guys. Their watsapp nos are from US and they also sent me a certificate. Find attached. These companies are located in Malaysia and US. But after research I found out these are fraud sellers. They have posted multiple adds on quickr. I only found them when searching for graphics cards. The image below is what i download from internet. The scammer posted a certificate with similar logo and company name with a different registration number. Be careful and alert. Don't spend your hard earned money without thinking thrice or more.

I got similar email from that person for renting out my flat in Gurgaon due to advertisement in Quirk. This is absolutely a scam. beware.

these type of fraudulent hings originates from Bangalore(Easy Money Earners city-NO HARDWORK).
i have certain indian phone no's and account no's of them when i was a victim of this scam.
one guy named Kumar, from bangalore, called me and said he is the supporter of negro ###(who cheated me with iphone) and said that he will find my address and will kill me before end of day.
i just gave my address, asking him to reach me asap, if he is too dare.
to my shock, this both guys are still cheating people(with quikr name Muhammad Kumar, frankly they have hundreds and hundreds of accounts) all over india posting fake ads and asking people to deposit money into accounts and finally disappearing with customs clearance money transfer drama.
government has to do something on this.
This people has been cheating since years and it is really sad to witness, they still exist.i personally feel these guys are employed by quikr(whatever complaint we do on them, is automatically ignored by quikr app), coz they have Quikr Premium ads, which means they are paying with card or some Indian account details.

This is Mrs Manpreet Kaur Arora once again. This is to confirm to you that i have finally send the cheque to you so that you can be sure how serious I'm ready to purchase the Bed. The Airline will arrive in India tomorrow morning by 8:45AM, while they will call you for the delivery of the package to your door once the airline arrive.
Please bear with me that the affiliated flight, Lufthansa Airline has no available flight from London (UK) to your own city, so the flight that is bringing the package will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Once the parcel is clear from New Delhi custom it will be deliver to you in your City through Airline delivery Agent, So you have to make sure you are available at home to received the package once you got a call from the delivery local Agent because you have to sign before they release the package to you.
Also, From the cheque you will received, i have include extra amount of 8, 500 Rupees because i was informed by the Airline that been first class shipping the custom will charges 8, 500 Rupees in India Currency has insurance fee/Clearing fee before they can clear the parcel which is the 70 Pounds writing on the Airway Bill. This amount is to ensure that the custom will register the parcel in India if in case there is any problem the custom can be able to defend that the cheque have pass through the normal channel to India.

I am very happy the way we've communicated, I am okay with you and i want you to know that i feel much comfortable paying ahead for the Bed now because i have discuss with the FedEx Courier company and they are ready to handle the pick up from your end after the payment of the Bed have been made directly to you because i have explain to them that I'm not presently in India and i want them to deliver the Bed to my house even without my present. I got trapped into cyber crime. I had posted add to sell my furniture in quikr. I got an email from one lady. She stays in uk and want to buy double bed. With conversation through email she look very professional to me. I agreed to sell her. But she didn't want to go through quikr want to send her own movers & packers.
After final decision happened between us that she will send a cheque through courier. I asked her to transfer online but she refused but i was okay as i just need to deposit the cheque in the bank and once money will transfer to my account she will send fedex for pickup.
Friday night she sent an email to me with the airway bill and cheque.in that she mentioned you need to pay rs. 8500 for custom clearance and they will assign i agent whom you need to transfer the amount in his account. As she mentioned in her email that the cheque is of additional rs. 8500 i have paid that. Later i got an email from the agent personal id and discussion happened, he demanded for rs. 16, 800. He said it's security deposit and then rs.18000 for fedex guys demanding for security to deliver the cheque. He has shared his identity with me lufthansa airline employee and letter from federal ministry office.
She also sent me a mail stating that she would directly transfer me the amount through her associate into my account directly and asked me for my bank account details. However i avoided giving bank details saying that i will wait for the cheque to arrive.
I got into the trap and paid rs. 25, 300. Through neft / rtgs.

Hello,
This is Mrs Manpreet Kaur Arora once again. This is to confirm to you that i have finally send the cheque to you so that you can be sure how serious I'm ready to purchase the Sofa. The Airline will arrive in India tomorrow morning by 8:45AM, while they will call you for the delivery of the package to your door once the airline arrive.
Please bear with me that the affiliated flight, Lufthansa Airline has no available flight from London (UK) to your own city, so the flight that is bringing the package will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Once the package is clear from New Delhi custom it will be deliver to you in your City through Airline delivery Agent, So you have to make sure you are available at home to received the package once you got a call from the delivery local Agent because you have to sign before they release the package to you.
The total amount on the cheque is 38, 500 Rupees. 30, 000 Rupees for the Sofa and the rest 8, 500 Rupees will be transfer to the Airline delivery Agent. because the Airline official have charges 70 Pounds extra which is 8, 500 Rupees. I was told this amount will be paid at India Airport once they arrive by tomorrow morning being Securities Transaction Tax (STT) so they can register the package since is first class shipping send from abroad before they can come to deliver the package at your door step. But still the Airline is not 100% sure if they will request or not since is just an envelop but in case they request, that is why I have added the 8, 500 Rupees extra on the cheque so you can transfer to the Airline delivery agent tomorrow for the clearance and registration of the package from the custom at Delhi to avoid any forms of delay. Once the amount is credited into your account then you can deduct the amount you've transfer for the custom fee. One more thing, i will want you to please get back to me with the best time the you want the pick up to be done after you received the amount credited into your account.
Once you received the package by tomorrow, please make sure you deposit to your account as earlier as possible so the money can be credited into your account before the pick up date by the FedEx. Also remember to send a mail to me once the amount is credited into your account so i can send to the FedEx Courier that is payment is done before they can come for the pick up.
I hereby attached you the Airway-Bill and the scan copy of the Cheque in the mail.

Note: Please ensure that the copy of my cheque is keep as a confidential because this is my company account where i kept all my fund. I send to you because of trust i have for you that is the reason i make the cheque payee A/c so another person can't misuse my company cheque.
