[Resolved] Quikr — Scam - possible attempt of online fraud in name of mrs manpreet kaur arora

This is to highlight the possible attempt of online fraud and confirm that i have already submitted the form in below link but did not receive any acknowledgement.

Details of fraud and attachments;

I had put an advertisement on quikr to sell my sofa set to which i received an email from showing interest in buying it from me. She says she is in uk for a month and has sent a package with airway bill of lufthansa cargo with awb# [protected]. As per her the package contains icici khalsa college branch amritsar cheque#044637 of account#[protected] of rs 18, 500/- out of this rs 10, 000/- is an advance payment for the sofa sale deal and remaining rs 8, 500/- which she wants me to pay in cash for the custom clearance duty in india airport.
However, i felt this is fraud when she mentioned on her email that i have to pay inr 8500/- to lufthansa cargo department to clear the package. I have received call on 15feb 2017 morning at 10:07am from mobile number [protected] which seems to show ashish negi name in true caller, however the person with african accent claims that he is calling from new delhi international airport and shared bank account details for me to make online payment to clear package.
He shared the account details as below;
A/c name: lufthansa airline service. A/c no:[protected]. Ifscode: rbin00061872. Reserve bank of india. Amount to pay: 8500 rupees
I did not made any payment, and think this is an online fraud. Hence am reporting for you to take appropriate proactive action to put these fraudsters behind bars.

Enclosed are 3 documents: id card of manpreet, airway bill and icici cheque

We have also received such a fraud query from Mrs Payal Pathak, who claims herself as Merchent Navy officer at UK. The fraud started with a rate enquiry for an oil painting which is to be sent as a gift to Bangalore. We were so close with the deal. On a second thought we searched this name and ended up here reading plenty of such scam stories. Don't know how to deal with this further. But posting our experience would be too helpful for many others whome this fraud gangue would target next. Never ever believe anything without proper evidence. We are attaching the screen shots of the fraud mails we have received which includes photographs of people to be painted and the cheque they claim to send us. This bloody ### should be caught and prosecuted.

I got a mail from Rachana uplekar, she wanted me to paint an artwork for her friend to surprise them. She sent me the photo of a couple who she said were her friends. We have normal conversation and i got the same airway bill and she wants me to pay 8500 for clearing of the package, which she has added the cheque amount.
I feel it is fake, but not sure.

I received this email and when research who is Manpreet Arora then I found its a fraud going to happen with me, Thank you guys for your post, I saved my time and money.

I got the mail you send to me but I don't know how possible you can get this done before the 15th of June or Deadline 20th of June 2021 if you received the amount for the (Acylic Canvas) bcoz this is quite an urgent project and I don't want any disappointment from your side. But if you are sure you can meet up to the time period then I should proceed with the Payment to avoid any forms of a delay from my end.

I understand most Courier Service is under lockdown. if Courier not possible from your side, You inform me so I can handle the Courier once you complete your job bcoz I'm sending this to Bangalore.

Regarding the payment. Full payment will be done through my Cheque in India Bcoz i don't have any mist of online Transfer right now bcoz of OTP. I will Issue out the cheque and get it send to you asap which you will receive in India within 2days unfailingly and once you confirm payment then you can start your work asap.

So I will request you to get back to me with the following information to get the payment to you. Your full name as it will appear on the payment, Address to ensure delivery in your hands through regular mails or a courier service, your phone number on the package to avoid package missing in transit.

I got the same email for the same person. Thank God I found out the it is fake before doing anything stupid.
