[Resolved]  Quikr — selling of my sofa which is posted in quikr

I have posted ad for selling my sofa on 08th of nov. I saw a very good response however there was instances which was unexpected. I have received a mail from a shikha purbey who is in uk and showing her interest and sending out a mail to purchase my sofa. While a lot of conversation happened between us. She is so professional and writing so good mail which no one can imagine that she is cheater.in my below mail i will share all the mails which i have received from her and which i have responded so that it is very clear for someone to understand very properly that she is a cheater. I am not aware whether the person is she or he while name seems to be lady name and hence i am using she instead of he. While i am leaving it to all intelligent people to decide on this part. I am requesting all the customers who is dealing with quikr and be aware of such fraudster.

I am requesting quikr to take necessary action and eliminate such risk than resolving the issue and closing the ticket from their end. It is always expected that a company should take care of their customer and ensure that no fraudster does such cheating with their customers. With top end technology available in market it is always easy to handle such spams and take immediate action and raise a police complaint from company side than customer raising a police complaint after he or she gets trapped.

You should try to co-operate with the delivery agent on time and once the payment is done you need to send the copy of transfer to me as well for my future reference. Once you deposit the cheque to your account then you can deduct your 8, 500 rupees.

I'm sending my id proof to you so you can know we are both safe.

Thanks for your prompt response. While the lufthansa team is sending out a mail from a different mail id (Yahoo.com) and not from their official mail id.in that case how do i believe that it is true and doesn't have any risk associated with it.

They have asked me to deposit money immediately to the bank account as shared by them. While they are keep on calling me and asking to deposit. As a person i am not questioning you however few doubts which i could see here and hence i am raising the concern. The bank account details shows as chandel which is in manipur and i do not see that this is trusted source. I request you not to mind as i am just seeing certain possibilities of fraud here.

Again that folks has called me and asked me to deposit the amount which i have not done yet since i am not at all comfortable.

I wish and request you to please cancel the cheque and return it back and once you are back to india you can purchase the sofa from me. I will have this blocked for you. Else prove me that this transaction is legal and person associated with it is original and doesn't carry any illegal offence.

I need your id proof as well.

I have sent several mails on saturday to hold on and do not send the cheque as i was completely stuck in my office work. Probably you missed to see the mail.

While i appreciate that you have sent the cheque and today morning i have received a call from lufthansa airline to transfer 8500/- as you rightly mentioned in the mail. One thing is still not cleared which i have asked you. I would still request you to please confirm your location where this sofa will be delivered. Whether this is within india else it will go abroad (Outside india).

I hope you have read all my mail as i have mentioned that it is not a branded sofa and locally made. I hope there is no confusion and you agree that you have read all my mails and accepting the sofa as it is. Later i would request that we do not get inside such conversation once you are back to india. I hope you agree to the same.

Please confirm at the earliest possible time and i expect a reply as and when you see my mail.

According to the courier service here in uk, the parcel will be shipped through lufthansa airline while there flight will first arrive at indira gandhi international airport in new delhi in other to get all there parcel registered before it will be dispatched to there various destination through there local agent in india. So you have to make sure you are available at home to received the package once you got a call from the delivery local agent because you have to sign before they release the package to you.

Moreover, the total amount on the cheque is 17, 500 rupees. I have include extra amount of 8, 500 rupees because it was mention on the airway bill that 70 pounds has to be paid before delivery which is 8, 500 rupees but i was not told if this amount will be paid but i added the amount in case they charge for it because i don't want to cause you any financial problem and i don't want any delay to occur. The delivery agent will instruct you tomorrow regarding the clearing process and if amount is request then you will have to transfer to them on time and once the amount is credited into your account then you can deduct your amount transfer which is 8, 500 rupees and the rest 9, 000 rupees will be for the sofa.

I hereby attached you the scan copy of the cheque and the airway bill in the mail.

Please, you need to inform me immediately you received the amount credited into your account so the pick up agent can fix the pick up date from your location.
