This is SUNIL GUPTA an Account Manager in TATA communications Ltd., New Delhi. Working in a US shift time zone. We got offer from company to buy Blackberry handset and get the reimbursement.
I bought a New 9300 Blackberry 3G Mobile phone from E-Future at Nehru Place, New Delhi on 3rd of June,2011 ( Friday ) evening and went to the office. On same Day in office, when I checked my handset by just putting Battery and switch on without SIM, I found there is problem in Track pad of Handset and decided to replace it on Monday.
Monday morning to call to E- future, Nehru Place from where I bought my handset, they said you need to visit your nearest Blackberry Redington customer service centre. On Tuesday, 7th of June,11 I visited to Lajpat Nagar , New Delhi Redington Blackberry service centre with seal pack of all Accessories and Un used Blackberry handset along with box.
They have checked the handset and told me that we need to wait for 24 hours to get approved for DOA to change handset with Accessories and kept my box including all seal pack Accessories and called me to come tomorrow after 1 PM and gave me the acknowledgment receipt of Box.
Next day, 8th of June,11 Wednesday, I reached to service centre to collection DOA and change the handset. And found till then they had not received approval for DOA and called me to wait and I wait for almost around 4 hours there and after around 6 PM they gave me DOA with my BOX and told me to get it change from E- future by showing DOA. I check thoroughly Box and found that charger seal is opened and looks replaced and older but did not notice for DATA CABLE, I told the person about replacement of recharger and he said your Accessories will also get change with your handset so no worries, because I was getting late for office and ran to E-future to change handset and Accessories.
At E- future, when I opened blackberry Box which I collected back from service centre with DOA and found my Blackberry handset charger had been replaced with old charger and DATA Cable was not in Box. Then I tried to call service centre but by then It was closed around 7.30 PM, then E- Future had change only my handset.
Next day, 9th of June,11 Thursday, Morning. I reached again to service centre Lajpat Nagar and complaint about replacement of charger and missing of DATA Cable. He said I can change your charge with your New One but won’t give the DATA Cable. Then I said both the things have done here. Replacement of charger with old one and theft of DATA Cable. But they are not ready to give back my Data Cable.
Now, I want Redington to investigate and take action against the Persons of Lajpat Nagar, service centre, New Delhi under RTI Act and get back my New Blackberry Charger and DATA cable ASAP.
IF I don’t get any response from you or action against them in next 24 hours, I’ll lodge complaint in consumer forum and will sent copy of this letter to nearest Police station of Lajpat Nagar and lodge a FIR as well to action against and due to all this, I lost 1 day office, time and CAR fuel will charge for it as well.
