Reliance Energy — Fire due to short circuit in the meter cabin | |||
Dear concerned, My name is Juned Khan and I am from Bandra East, Mumbai. There was a fire in our cabin 5 days ago due to short circuit and we were without electricity for almost 6 hours. We called the reliance people several times but nobody came to check the issue. In the end we arranged for a private electrician to get thw job done because more than 7 hours without electricity then. Now we are continously complaining the reliance guys to come and check and resolve the issue but still they are unshaken about the issue. The problem is quite serious because it might catch fire again and may even cause danger to life. After several complains now they are asking us to arrange a private electrician and get it done. My question is, why should we arrange for a private electrician and bear the cost of repairing. Do they give us any concessions/discounts in the bills? In fact they send heavy bills month after month. I think we are from middle class chawl area, which is why they are taking this issue so lightly. They would hav acted immediately if it was some posh locality, where every other person can screw the company for faulty services. My only request here is to get this issue resolved because even we are paying for the services, they are not doing any charity or favour on us.
