Sir,
I had purchased a Samsung Side by Side refrigerator from Chandigarh a few years back, and the same was operating
at my residence in Chandigarh since the past few years. The refrigerator had
been installed by Samsung service center personnel and we have been operating
it as per the directions and instructions of the company. The refrigerator has
never even been touched by any other person than a genuine Samsung service
centre person.
Now about 8-10 days back, the
refrigerator malfunctioned all of a sudden, and we registered a complaint with
the Samsung Chandigarh service centre (Complaint No. [protected]), and we were
asked to send the refrigerator to the Samsung Service Centre at Plot No.
182/34, Industrial Area, Phase 1, Chandigarh, and on 22/08/2014 the
refrigerator was duly sent to them. Now we have received the refrigerator back
on 27/08/2014, with the service centre saying that the ‘internal wiring is
faulty, and hence cannot be repaired at all’.
I have repeatedly requested them
firstly we have operated the refrigerator strictly as per the installation
instructions, and nor has any unauthorized or outside person ever even touched
the refrigerator, and that even then in case there any cost of repair of the
refrigerator, we are ready to bear the same. But to hear from Samsung that
such an expensive refrigerator is suddenly not repairable at all, is very
disappointing and disheartening, and definitely it has affected the quality
image of the products and service of Samsung. We had bought this refrigerator a
few years ago, thinking that Samsung has much better quality than other brands
such as LG etc which are in the market selling similar products, that we shall
avail good quality, and good service from Samsung for a long time.
I hope that Samsung company
shall take due note of my problem, and repair our refrigerator, as failing
which we shall have no option but to seek a legal course in the Consumer Courts
of Chandigarh, for the redressal of our very genuine grievance as we cannot
absolutely dump or discard such an expensive piece of equipment just after a
matter of few years, and that too particularly when it has been installed and
operated as per the company instructions.
I am retaining a copy of this
mail for future reference, and I hope that your company shall definitely help a
genuine customer, with a very genuine complaint, so that we can avail the
service of such an expensive piece of equipment by Samsung.
