We purchased a 1.5 T Samsung split AC – 5 star rated (AS185BBHNSTL) from Vivek & Co. Chennai thinking Samsung will provide quality product since it was in the highest price range at the time of purchase. But I have been proved wrong. Initial 2 years it was fine. Later is started troublesome. Every six months it starts giving
some bad odour and when we call the company, the engineer would say gas leakage. I think this
is a common scenario with all Samsung ACs. Last Sept again similar bad odour and the engineer
suggested to fill up gas. Now within six months again similar issue. We wanted to take it up
seriously as we cannot keep on investing since we have purchased the product. Hence we complained
in the recent ‘Summer ready Drive’ from Samsung service. They also checked and said the same.
But when we said why is the gas leakage very frequent, they said that they have to take the entire
outdoor and indoor unit to their service station and check. Finally they have taken the unit on
3rd March vide Service Rqst Bill No.[protected] and now they have given a feedback that the condenser
coil is worn out and it has to be replaced, then gas has to be again filled in with a total cost of
around 7000/- Net of discounts applicable for the ‘Summer ready drive’. On top of it, they give us
coil warranty only for 3 months and for gas leakage only 1 month. What if the problem recurs
in another six months? Does it mean since we bought this Samsung product,
we need to keep investing again and again. We feel there is some technical issue with your
manufacturing quality as this is the feedback given by most of the Samsung AC users.
Request the Technical Head to bestow your attention and do the needful as otherwise we need to
escalate the same to Consumer Forum to intervene and ensure proper quality assurance.
