I am filing a formal complaint regarding the Samsung 2025 Model Bespoke AI 1.5 Ton 3-Star Split Inverter AC, recently purchased from Flipkart. The product has a serious design flaw with its vertical swing airflow mechanism, which makes it unsuitable for normal bedroom use and was not disclosed anywhere in the product details or specifications.
Key Issues:
Faulty Vertical Swing Design:
The vertical airflow only begins at a distance of 8 feet from the wall, and the airflow remains above 4 feet from the floor level, even in vertical swing mode. This means no cooling reaches the area directly beneath or near the AC, making it ineffective for anyone sitting or lying on a bed placed within the first 8 feet of the unit.
Room Size Limitation:
To effectively use this AC, one would require a bedroom of at least 20 feet in length — 8 feet of ineffective cooling space, followed by a 6.5-foot bed, plus walking space. This is an unrealistic expectation for most Indian households, and such a critical limitation was never mentioned in the product description.
Unacceptable Technician Response:
When I raised this with Samsung’s technician, I was told that “this is the design of this model” and was even advised to switch on the ceiling fan to circulate the air.
This is completely unacceptable — if the solution is to use a ceiling fan, then what is the purpose of having a vertical swing feature in the AC? One might as well remove that feature altogether.
Misleading Marketing & Lack of Disclosure:
Nowhere in the product's manual, images, or promotional content is it mentioned that the vertical swing does not cover near or downward zones. This is a classic case of misrepresentation and violates consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
