I applied for my first credit card with SBI. I had nightmare experience with SBI credit Card in 2016-17. I made some purchase for amount of Rs.1000 and paid the principal amount next day of the purchase date. SBI levied 500+taxes on late fee on the payment which was made next day of due date.
I called up SBI Customer Care to have details on the late fee imposed. After discussion with Customer Care Personnel they said late fee amount of Rs.500 imposed previous month will dropped in the next month billing. So I waited for next month to check for the reversal of the late fee. To my surprise instead of canceling the charges of previous month they levied late fee of next month of Rs500 + taxes. So it added up to 1000+ taxes. So I decided to call customer care narrated all the events to them. They bluntly said we didn't said anything like that. Moreover they said card cannot cancelled unless the dues get clear. So I stopped using that SBI credit after the incident.
Till date I have been harassed for not paying the amount which is not the principal amount but the late fees amounting to Rs5000 (adding all the late fees during course of more than 5 years).
Principal amount was cleared next day after the purchase date.
