I bought this product (Model Name: KD65X9000F, Serial No:[protected] around 2 years back and all of the sudden one day when I switched on the TV there was no display but audio was there. I called customer care and they sent a technician for inspection. Technician told me that the display panel is gone and needs to be replaced which will cost me around 54k. After that I started calling customer care to help with the matter but every time they said the service center team has not updated the status of the inspection in the system. On the 4th day after the inspection they are saying they can't help and they don't have any solution for this problem. I asked the customer care to put me on the feedback call and she denied.
Since this was an expensive device I spent extra to buy a good quality voltage stabilizer for this TV and installed it with the TV installation from day one. Even after that display panel is gone. This is a serious quality and reliability issue with this product. I have multiple LED TVs of different brands in my family and I have never faced any problems with them. It is completely unacceptable that after spending close to 2 lakhs for an LED TV from a renowned brand like Sony and buying voltage stabilizer for its protection device can die in 2 years.
Technician who visited for the inspection gave me 2 options. Either to spend 54 k and get the panel replaced or exchange the TV with another model but for that they are giving me almost scrap value of the existing device.
