Standard Chartered Bank — conversion back to salary account & reversal of penalty against min balance | |||
I've been holding a salary account in standard chartered since 2012. The account was auto converted into savings account without any form of intimation by 2016 on the account that salary was not credited for the past 6+ months due to my higher studies. I've been following up with the bank for weeks and weeks to convert back to salary account since i've resumed work. Despite several attempts to visit cathedral road branch in chennai and spending hours on call with customer care executive, my account remains unchanged and also had to bare a penalty for not maintaining min balance of rs 25000. I've been forced to bare the brunt of lackadaisical approach of standard chartered to meet their customer satisfaction.in the era where customer experience and satisfaction are given unparalleled priority, standard chartered has made me spend hours on phone and in-person visits to convert my account and even made me pay a penalty. In my opinion standard chartered, in addition to converting my account to salary and reversing the penalty charges, has to compensate me for making their customer face a substandard experience.
