State Bank of India — failure to clear local cheque even after seven days

I had deposited a cheque of peoples cooperative bank ltd in the name of nitin anthony luther sb account no [protected] at sbi arya nagar branch, kanpur on october 5. I used my atm on october 10 only to find that there was no cash. I tried on october 11 it was the same status and even on october 12 the status shows the same. The bank staff claims that it would be cleared in one week as all the cheques go to lucknow for clearance. I have already been deducted rs 25 for no cash.
